Minor design flaws
I'm mostly happy with this vacuum except for a couple of design flaws. I like the easy-to-empty bagless system and the switch that lets me choose whether to have the brush rollers on or off. The amount of suction is good. Took me a bit to learn how to maneuver the swivel head but I've got it now and like it.But there are several (to me) design flaws. Annoying but wouldn't keep me from buying another Shark. First, when you unplug one of the hoses to use it as an attachment, the light on the head goes out. that's OK if you're vacuuming cobwebs from the ceiling, but if you're after floor dirt, you suddenly can't see it any more. I find it really frustrating when I'm trying to vacuum up spilled cat litter the swivel head can't reach. When I plug the hose back in and the light comes back on, I see that I missed some and have to do it again. And when you want to use the hose, you have to press a release lever on the hose down at the same time you are trying to pull the hose up to get it out of its bracket. The power cord attachment is very near the floor. I always hold the cord in one hand so I can shift it out of the way. But if I let it go, it falls to the floor and I have to bend down to pick it up again. I have fed the cord through the loop in the handle so it doesn't fall to the floor, but this makes extracting the longer extension hose even more unwieldy than it already is.Winding up the cord for storage is also made harder than in needs to be. The lower bracket is very close to the floor. I'm not young. Because of the repeated bending needed, I no longer wind up the cord; I coil it and hang it on the upper bracket. These are trivial things that could be mitigated with better design but despite them, I would buy another Shark.

Great Vacuum!
I used this Vacuum at my daughter’s house and had to have it. Great suction, smoothly maneuvers, and easy to use. Love it!

Very disappointed
The motorized floor nozzle does not work. Brush roll does not turn and head lamps do not light up. This vacuum cleaner was sold to me refurbished. I apparently got a “lemon.”

Be aware of replacement parts they cost almost as much as new vacuum.
Two things about this vacuum. First I have a Labrador who sheds 365 days a year. This vacuum works like you would not believe. Easy to empty cup. Just remember to have a very fine brush to clean the mesh filter that is not removable.Second. If you need a new brush roll you cannot just buy the brush roll you must buy the entire bottom half of the vacuum which costs over $100 plus shipping and handling . The vacuum cost $150 when I bought it three years ago .I thought I was hearing things when the rep told me that .So I will never purchase another Shark even though I love how it cleans. I will keep using this till the brush roll no longer picks up the dog hair . I will start researching vacuums that just the one part I might need.

Getting parts is a hassle (UPDATED)
Vacuum is very easy to use, lightweight and does a pretty good job. I would NOT buy another one though due to the poor support. It is a hassle to get parts. Their website is one of the poorest I have encountered. After a couple hours of searching, I have not been able to locate some common maintenance parts, even on the company's own website. In our days of easy online shopping, I am astonished that any major company would have such a poor online presence. I will go back to a product that is supported in the future. Too bad because up to the point of needing some maintenance parts and having so much of my time wasted, I was pretty pleased with the product.Update 8/23/19: I would NOT recommend Shark vacuums. I just found out that they don't sell a replacement beater brush and belts for this and other models. You have to buy the whole powerhead which ends up being 75% of the cost of a new vacuum. Ridiculous. It could be replaced because I had it disassembled (by the way the disassembly is far too complicated). They work great while they work but they are throwaway appliances. Beware of the good ratings - make sure they include remarks about the longevity.

Great Suction!
I love the suction power. I purchased this because of the cross between a canister and upright. I need something that gets under furniture. This vacuum is so versatile. I love the ability to go from upright to canister at the push of a button. I can instantly get under the couch or bed. There are to cleaning heads, 1 is a vacuum head for carpet and one has a microfiber head with vacuum suction. Both are a breeze to set up. The microfiber head has awesome suction and you can purchase either from Amazon or shark for replacement or supplements . The button at the top of the wand allows you to go from hardwood floors to carpet in an instant. Be sure to put carpet back on when you add the power head or the rollers do not work. I also love the fact I can wash my filters. My previous vacuum (Prolux I force had a hepa filter and no way to wash it). But here's what I do not like; is the having to make sure that when I return the canister to the wand, you have to come in from the left or the cord and the hose become trapped between the canister and the wand. Also, when to empty the canister, it must be released from the wand to empty the cup of debris. The wand is in the way of the canister to swinging back to release the cup. It takes pulling back with some muscle to get it to release and there is a crack sound that you swear you broke it. Other than that, its an awesome vacuum.
