Solved my runaway blower motor issue
The install requires some minor wiring changes to the vehicle.True to form, GM makes changes to their systems after numerous failures of the original design. The original design fails to a "blower on" state. This kit corrects the issue but be aware, there are wires to be cut and a slightly different connector to be installed.

Get the OEM part
This is an OEM part made in Korea. The quality of this part will surpass 'equivalent' parts made in China, so buying the Chinese part to save a few dollars will probably result in doing the repair again - i.e. no savings whatsoever!GM specs using butt connections that go to the blower itself which I cannot understand. Do this repair more than once and you'll be out of wire. Just use properly sized wire nuts with a bit of dielectric grease and some electricians tape (optional) if you want to go the extra mile.Good seller, but they took their sweet time shipping it out, so I doubt they actually stock the part, FYI. Nevertheless, the part arrived with 'official-looking' Delco tape. Included instructions were totally lame so if you need better instructions look on YouTube. Before you go all in with a module, first check the relay for your HVAC blower (often found in the engine bay, drivers side) - that is the easiest and cheapest thing to replace. Next, use a multi-tester to test output from your current module (before you buy one). If you are getting DC voltage from your module that varies logically with fan-speed settings, it's your blower, not the module. Amazon sells a lot of blowers. Buy TYC (brand) if you can find it! They are made in Taiwan and will 'blow away' the Chinese competition.Good seller, good (OEM) part. Shipping took WAY too long and I suggest using wire nuts vs. butt connectors. Install goes better if you are about 90 pounds and flexible (I am not). Good luck with your repair.

This is a great fix. GMC dealer wanted $265 for part and ...
My 2007 GMC Envoy SLT with the automatic climate control had a malfunctioning blower motor (or so I thought). I dug into the blower module and blower motor under the glovebox and put a MM on both. controller had 12.xx volts., blower had 0volts. I removed the glovebox, blower module and the blower itself. Why the blower if all I was replacing was the blower module you ask? Because it is easier get the power lead between the module and the blower with the blower removed.Symptoms: blower would work one day and not the next. When it did work it had 3 speeds. I put a dc clamp meter on the blower purple wire and got 7.2 amps max on the old module. with the new module installed I am now getting 8 speeds in amps ranging from 1.57a all the way up to 14.80a.This is a great fix. GMC dealer wanted $265 for part and 300 for labor. It took me 1.5 hours.Like everyone says you do have to clip the old lead off the old module (3 wires) 2 18 gauge and 1 22 ga. I used water proof butt connectors. My advice : Disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start !!.Tip #2 measure resistance with your multimeter between the battery negative terminal and the cars chassis ground. You should have less than 1 ohm resistance preferably .5 or less. If you don't take off the chassis ground and sandpaper the connection down and tell you do. With a good chassis ground like this your blower motor will operate at the highest possible speed.

Blower motor working intermittently?
If you're looking at this, there is a good chance that your HVAC blower is either not working at all, or is working off and on whenever it feels like it. Mine was, and I mistakenly thought it was the climate control unit on the dash. Nope, that wasn't it, and almost $300 wasted. Took at look at University of YouTube, and they symptoms matched this resistor being bad. I placed my order, and it was waiting on my doorstep by 8am the next morning! Thanks Amazon. Took it out to my Suburban, and started the replacemant. A half an hour later I was done, and my AC was working perfectly again! Drove around all afternoon running errands, and it appears to be fixed.

Worked for 15 Months.
It worked great for 15 months. Original one lasted 15 years. Found the replacement part failed because of a water leak from the windshield. Bought another one and it works great. Changed rating to 5 star.Additional notes:Put a second one in after the first failed after 15 months. Works fine although it is odd that the module came in a plain paper bag. I would guess, GM does not use plain paper lunch bags. One thing to note, I choose this part again, since I did try less expensive non GM ones and the fan/blower speed control does not work as well. The fan speed does not always turn on at the low speeds for the non-OEM modules and they sometimes stop running at the low speeds.
