Excellent for alcohol markers (pro markers)
I have never bought good paper. Only used high st stuff/printer paper. Ive got a set of brush pro markers, micron fineliners that i wanted to get into using with the chance of a super pro finish.Paper has been the biggest headache to research. im not rich so got to be fussy. I went with this canson xl bristol pad because it isnt thin like marker/layout paper and isnt thick like watercolour paper absorbing lots of ink. Being smooth was to help with blending and fineliners.Alcohol pens. Blends brilliantly. and solid too. Does go through to next sheet if saturated a lot so need backing sheet. (i always do anyway).Fineliners, microns work brilliant too. perfect even.graphite and polychromos. get high detail drawings done. polychromos work really well too. though im a newbie so not best judge for them. graphite definately good.Watercolour, just a no. doesnt work at allPosca pens work well. takes a while to dry. nice and smooth finish. doesnt tear paper.preppy fountain pen, works brilliant. feels smooth to sketch with. new experience lolim so happy with this paper. definately worth a try. will be useful. i got the wow factor seeing and using good paper for the first time :)

Amazingly smooth
I was recommended to try this for pen and ink drawing. The ink kind of sinks into the super smooth paper. It comes in tearoff perforated sheets but it's full A4, unlike certain other brands which are slightly smaller

quite good for the price (i think?)
bristol board can be very pricey, i haven’t bought any before (thus the “i think”) but from my own use of this it’s quite good for the price.i’ve used ink on this and it’s handled it quite well, with no bleeding or tearing, and very smooth lines compared to printer or watercolour paper. :-)i’ve also used watercolours on it, and it’s alright, but comparably watercolour paper just does a better job as it’s specifically designed for it.one thing that’s unfortunate about this though is the size of the paper, it’s just a bit bigger than A4 which means added hassle for anyone who needs to work in specific paper sizes, as you’d have to measure and cut off the top. it’s definitely an unnecessary annoyance that could’ve been avoided by making each piece of paper seperate in a package rather than joining them in a sort of booklet from which you tip off individual pieces of paper :-/

Smooth and no bleeding
I've been trying my hand at calligraphy, but have struggled when using ink on the paper I had - ink bleeding into the paper and the pen scratching. This paper, which is thicker than standard, is lovely and smooth and the pen glides more easily.
