This box works perfectly to hold all of my sheet music. The lid is meant to not be tight fitting on it's own as it's purpose is to hold hanging files. The lid fits snug with the hanging files inside. I'm very pleased with this box. I don't use the little handle to lift the box, only to pull it toward me. Would recommend that you hold the actual box when lifting it. Box is beautiful and sleek and sturdy. Was not damaged at all and works perfectly for my purposes.

Small enough to fit nicely on my bookshelf and it looks nice and neat. I have two of these and the older one is slightly misshapen probably due to sun exposure but it isn’t noticeable. Hold a good amount of files.

This file box and matching document boxes are substantial and durable as well as stylish.With the well-designed lid on, you can't tell that there are hanging file folders or anything else in the box. It fits just about everywhere, is an easy size to carry, and is unobtrusive. Colors are good - navy is saturated, turquoise is bright - and I wish for more colors.

These file boxes do not have a sturdy handle to hold onto. It has a metal tab but you cannot use it to pull it off of a shelf. You can pull it forward and then you will need to use both hands to pick it up and take it off of the shelf. I did not think of this detail when I made my purchase. They are pretty and they seem firm but I have only had them for one month. I think that if I need a file box again I purchase at a store where I can really examine the box in person.
