What is the advantage of this over athlon 113004 midas 8 x 42 ed binocular ?

This will give you all the same features and identical clear sharp image to 8x42 with more magnification ( trade off is you will have less field of view comparing with 8x42).

Whats the difference between 10 and 8?

I have both the 10 power and 8 power binoculars. While in the 10 power the image is a little bigger the 8 power offers the sharper image at least to my old eyes. And of course the 10 power has a smaller filed of view than the 8 as well. I occasionally get some color fringing with the 10 power that I do not get with the 8. So while the 10 power is 9 out of 10 the 8 power is a solid 10 out of 10 for me.
