If you miss any small part of your body, you will get severely burned. The product is yellow at first, but dries clear, leaving a slightly oily film for an hour or so until it soaks in completely/washes off a bit. This helps with effective application.If you get this in your eyes, you will suffer streaming itching red eyes, so be very careful around the eye area especially with kids. I found that anti-histamine tablets and sunglasses helped reduce the sensation on a couple of occasions where I was not careful enough, or sweat washed it into my eyes before it had dried enough.The benefit of this product is that it is highly effective at preventing sunburn when used correctly and really can be applied once a day, which is great for avoiding the hassle, worry, tears and baggage with traditional sunscreen products and lets the kids just get on and have fun.I personally think the spray is a bit of a gimmick - you have to rub it in by hand anyway and it can miss/blow off resulting in wasted product, but my wife prefers a spray, I don't really know why.This is a good price for this product. However, as I was competing in the Virgin London Marathon in record temperatures (around 28c), I had little choice. I am a big sweater and needed something I could apply once in the morning that would last the entire marathon.This product is simply fantastic, it was incredibly easy to apply, had no smell and didn’t leave my skin feeling oily. These were my major concerns initially and I was sceptical it would last the entire marathon, however after over 4 hours of running in small shorts and a vest, heaps of sweat and pouring water over my body throughout the race due to the high heat the sun protection did its job.Overall, I was in the sun for around 7+ hours and during the race had no cover or shade whatsoever and the next day although I was aching from the race, I didn’t have any sun burn, whom my wife who was a spectator was burned and was only in the sun for a fraction of the time without the same conditions and didn’t feel at the time sun lotion was warranted. How foolish she felt after!I can’t recommend this product enough and have used this on a few runs since and has done the job brilliantly. Normally when I go away to places with medium sun exposure such as the Mediterranean, p20 at Factor 30 applied for the first week/week and a half then dropping down to factor 20 allows me to get a tan where no sunscreen has. With all other brands I either apply high factors and do not get burnt but get no tan, or try and lower my factor and suffer sunburn which doesn't fade into a tan - stays red and hurts! I will NEVER use another brand as long as I can afford it, have been using for years ever since I discovered it 5 years ago.The key to its success is follow instructions! I apply first thing in the morning either with no clothes on or with an old bikini - because when not fully dry this stuff can stain clothes! I the. Walk around/do errands for a full 10 minutes before I even think about putting clothes on, but usually it's more like 30 mins to be sure I don't stain sofas, clothes or let it run off.If you are olive skinned I am jealous of the tan you would get with this!I do usually reapply after lunch and haven't tested it's once a day claims, as id rather be safe. I'm surprised to see that people have burned, we've holidayed in the Caribbean, Egypt & Europe and we never burned using it. I just can't work out if its been applied and used properly how that would happen. we do favor up for more intensity, as you would with any sun protection, you can't assume that just because it's all day that you don't need the correct level of protection. we generally use factor 30 even in tye UK and will use 50 if needed.
