Great oil painting cleaner.
Had an original oil painting badly stained by nicotine as you can see in the photos. I would suggest that you use cotton sticks to begin on your own painting but after a while I was able to try larger areas carefully with cotton wool. One bottle was fine. Very pleased with the results. One review says it's expensive, I'd dissagree - what are other options? Repaint? Professional restoration? Best option in my opinion if you have time. Took me 90 minutes tops.

Definitely works, takes time and patience
Takes time to slowly and gently clean the painting. Lot of mention of the smell, it's not that bad. Yes, it has a strong smell but it's not awful.The liquid goes a long way, I only used about a fifth of the bottle to clean an old small oil that was heavy with nicotine and dirt.

Easy to use and effective
Back in 1981 following a promotion my fathers work colleagues gave him an oil painting of the local harbour. After he passed I wanted to clean it up and reframe it, and this product did a great job, it is a gentle formula, easy to apply and really drew out the original colours

Brightened my painting, no problems
I bought this to clean an oil painting I purchased at auction which was described as needing a light clean. I was a bit hesitant about trying to clean it myself but decided to have a go as it wasn’t a particularly valuable painting and didn’t justify the expense of having it cleaned professionally. It was easy to use with some cotton wool pads and I tried it first on a small area in the corner. The results weren’t dramatic but it has certainly lifted my painting and brightened it with no adverse affects. The small bottle was more than enough for quite a large picture. I would certainly use it again on something not too valuable.

Excellent
It does smell, so wait for a good day and use it outside. Superb product, the photo provided shows the difference on a 200 year old painting with zero manipulations of the image - both taken in the same place in the same light 48 hours apart. Very happy.
