Having tried the sampler pack of the shampoo and conditioner bars I wasn't blown away with them but I did like them enough to make the switch from bottled shampoo. That is, I wasn't blown away until this shampoo bar (and the matching conditioner bar). Even after one use I knew this was the one. While I was a bit worried in the shower given my hair felt very clean and didn't feel super moisturized, the results after my hair dried were enough to convince me. My hair was so soft and shiny (and my waves looked so defined, I even had some curls! This has NEVER happened before!). Not to mention my hair was less frizzy than normal, which is HUGE for me! I've been able to go DAYS without my hair getting greasy: again another huge thing for me since I'm usually greasy the day after I wash my hair. I really hope they make this a permanent item because I'll be a forever buyer of this line!My hair type: Fine, wavy (2A/2B), frizzy, oily scalp and dry ends, chest-lengthScent: As someone who isn't the biggest fan of lavender but loves eucalyptus, the way the bar smells is great. It had more of a natural/herbal scent than the other bars. The scent is far stronger on the bar and doesn't linger in your hair if that's something you worry about. After my hair dried, I couldn't smell either the lavender or the eucalyptus but it had a soft clean scent which I was okay with.Use: Having tried samples of Ethique's other products I found what worked best for my hair was as follows. First you have to get your hair super wet, for me I just leave my hair under the shower for 30 seconds or so then take the bar and create a lather in my hands and swipe that through my hair. I follow that with a rinse THEN take the bar and swipe it over my head (focusing on the top of my head, not the ends) 4 times. From there I build a lather in my hair and massage for about 30 seconds then rise. (I will note that my hair didn't feel as great as when I used a bottled shampoo but when I say this works, I mean IT WORKS). I follow up with the Kookabara conditioner (which I let sit for a minute or two) and rinse with lukewarm/cool water and that's it.Storage: I keep it on the side of my shower in a soap holder which seems to work fine since it's out of the water but I may invest in the Ethique soap container eventually. Just be sure to keep it out of the water (or shower if you can) as that may affect the longevity.Longevity: Having used this for 2 weeks, washing 3x one week then 2x the bars both look like they did when I bought them. This is going to last FOREVER!Pros: Cute sustainable packaging, purchase goes towards a great cause, longevity, ease of use, scent, light hydration, leaves hair SUPER shiny and voluminousCons: Shampoo makes hair slightly tangled (my hair gets tangled super easily but I thought I would mention it) and it lasts forever? (I guess if you don't like committing to products this one isn't for you)Overall Rating: 9.5/10

In looking for a natural purple shampoo I came across this. It doesn’t disappoint. Works as well as any liquid one, without all the chemicals. Doesn’t make my hair waxy like some bar shampoos and conditioners do, too.

Usually I hate the silicone free products because they don't clean my hair enough, are too drying, or make it frizzy. This seriously leaves my hair feeling amazing! I have a balayage that is light, LIGHT blonde and this not only keeps my hair hydrated, it actually tones the brassiness better than my old purple shampoo. The excessively purple pigment is perfect for keeping yellowness away until I can get it toned again.At first, it felt like the shampoo bar made my hair feel "squeaky" or almost too clean, too stripped in the shower. Whenever my hair dried, however, it was perfectly hydrated, soft, AND clean! I like this more than my old shampoo with silicones and all that in it. Also a first, it reduces MAJOR scalp itchiness that I have!!The only thing that I would say negative about it is that it does get purple all over the shower, but that is easily wiped away and washed out. I also have to use more of it than the recommended usage; they recommend just swiping it along the hair 3-5 times. This doesn't cut it, I use a lot more than that. I also do not use it on my ends, just my scalp. It also seems hard to travel with and will melt if you don't let it dry and set it in a puddle. It does not lather, but that is to be expected with this sort of product.

I was hooked the first wash!I started out feeling skeptical, but the shampoo bar got super sudsy and my hair felt so clean as I was washing it off!I like my conditioner slimy enough to detangle my curly hair and the conditioner bar did exactly that.Bonus that it’s non toxic ingredients and plastic free too!

Exactly what I hoped for!I wanted a shampoo bar as I travel often and can’t seem to find any absolutely leak proof bottle. But I have very fine, dark, slippery hair that gets greasy in a day, which makes using any old shampoo bar impossible.LOVE this bar. My hair feels so clean after, and I swear it stays less greasy for longer (like a whole day and a half lol). I travel with it every where. I cut it into thirds (used a hot knife) and the third of the bar has lasted me about two weeks worth of shampoos (and still have some left- but keep in mind have very fine hair).The downside: it’s super strong smelling, and smells sort of like cleaner unfortunately. It makes my whole Dopp kit smell like disinfectant- but it does NOT make my hair smell that way so who cares?Light weight, and the bar itself is durable and does not break down or crumble/melt.Recommend.

I love this conditioner. It goes on easily and leaves my hair nicely conditioned. I haven't tried the shampoo yet.

This thing is surprisingly heavy, which makes it impractical for travel. The shelf inside is also not attached, meaning it clanks around inside the holder if soaps aren't large enough to hold it in place. I envisioned a much more travel-friendly aluminum. Ended up returning this.

Really nice unisex scent, doesn't lather too much but just enough to use for shaving. Won't go back to single use plastic or rusty aluminum bottles!
