X-Terra Pro detector Great value
This is a good machine at a very good price. The features are in line with much more expensive detectors.Minelab have upped the game at this price pointCan be used as a switch on and go machine but plenty of settings for experienced detectorists and those wanting to learn.Comes with a quick start guide but I recommend downloading the full user manual from Minelab's website.Very light machine that is fully waterproof so ideal all-round detector. Easy to set up/assemble from the box and been telescopic easy to fold for transport and storage.Has six preset modes, two each for Park, Field and Beach. and each preset is further customisable. Park and Field has a choice of 3 frequencies for varying ground conditions.Machine is well made, feels quality, very light but appears to be robust. It is hight adjustable so will suit a child to an adult so a good detector the whole family can use.I have found the detector performs well in the field, discrimination is good and I have found some interesting finds in the few weeks I've owned it.All in all a well made recommended machine for beginners and experienced detectorists

A brilliant man toy!
Got this for my partner so he can go metal detecting with his mate. He absolutely loves it and now his mate has bought one too. He says it can pick up absolutely anything and the depth is very good too. He is 6’2” and the detector is not heavy.Would highly recommend.

Minelab Voyager
Coil is ok ish for tge money but the quality of stem etc is awful. I am not very tall but the stem still did not extend enough and then it just decided to break from fatigue after just a couple of outings. The battery compartment is terrible also and too tight which make lid pop off all the time. It basically feels like like a kids toy. I think Minelab are trying to keep up with the Chinese poor quality detectors with this machine but it’s not giving Minelab a good name as it’s no better than a Chinese machine . If you are looking for a very good quality detector with similar budget - go for the Nocta X Pro which is only £49 more but the quality and standard is amazing and stands side by side with far more expensive detectors and always detects accurately.

Do NOT be put off by the low price!
The media could not be loaded. Do NOT be put off by the low price!I own the Minelab Equinox for years and for some weird nagging feeling, I was really, REALLY drawn to this and was confused. Why did Minelab fetch out a machine which can only be used on 1 frequency at a time? Why Is It, well....so GREEN! (lol)Why this...WHY that? So, I aimed my mouse pointer on the screen and, to cut to the chase....bang!iN MY FACE, now I understand!Ergonomics completely different to the not very nice Equinox grip. The control box slides up and down the shaft so you can position It to your liking. The Balance Is also better than my Equinox.THEN, the shaft - boy you are In for a treat If you buy one!I am the first one to admit, I paid £900 for my Equinox when It first came out and only £299 for this XTerra BEAST and hand on heart It beats the socks off my Equinox on my local permissions on coins, as that's mainly what I like to enjoy.Or, maybe It's a coincidence that the last 20 hunts with my X-terra have ALL been way coin-producing than my Equinox - I think not.I LOVE this thing.Have also tested It In beach mode and still to this day I find myself wondering, pondering and even asking myself out loud - "Minelab, how did you do It?"Pros:Adjustable controld podCamlocks on shaft to make It ALMOST fit in the glove box (J/K) but It goes so small. The grip Is soooooo comfortableBalance Is spot on.CONS:Well, I don't see It as a con, but I thought I would add It...the numbers do massively Jump everywhere, but I hunt by sound as most should, but hey ho....that's my honest review guys.GET IT!

Hit or miss.
I’ll say straight up- you get what you paid for.Positives:It’s nice and light, and as someone who’s never used a metal detector before, it’s simple to use compared to others you can get. The screen is nice and big so you can see everything on there. Easy to put together/set up.Negatives:To start with if you’re someone who’s never gone metal detecting- I actually wouldn’t recommend this. Yes, there is the argument of if you should just go straight to an expensive, quality metal detector or start simple. I’d say go better. I very quickly became obsessed with this hobby but realising that this detector just isn’t that good made me also quickly realise I’ll just go better and stick with that. Trust me if you get stuck in- you’ll be buying a better one within a few weeks. So the problems? It’s the constant false signals. And for the life of me, I can’t figure out what it is except putting fault to the machine. Even when swinging slowly on a lower sensitivity there always seems to be the constant frustrating issue with false signals. And I’m aware it happens with all detectors but this is constant no matter where I am and I’ve tried a range of places. As for finds, it’ll get you coins and buttons- old rusty parts nobody wants to dig up. And I must say the depth is really good! So as I say- hit or miss. You do get what you paid for though, and I’m not saying spend silly amount on so and so but I’ve just bought Noktas legend because I’ve heard ALOT of good things about it.If you’re buying for maybe a child or someone who just wants to have a go- I would recommend.
