Wonderful Homeschooling Tool for Autistic Son
I bought these to use for our Summer Reading assignments as a homeschooling mother to an Autistic 13 year old son. He has a hard time getting easily distracted from what he's reading and I found he was filling in the stories with his own assumptions of what was happening instead of referring back to the texts when the time came to recount details from the stories. These are wonderful, simple tools that have been amazingly beneficial to his reading comprehension progress and he now asks for them when he has an assignment to complete. I noticed that he will also reach for them and read for pleasure, whereas this used to not be the case at all!I have tried everything from expensive iOS applications to reward charts and incentives to get him to stay on task and further his comprehension of texts when reading. These simple rulers are easy to use, require no chargers or batteries, and have been the most beneficial tool for him that I've found since he first started reading in elementary school. I wish I had found them sooner!Shipping was fast (of course), and they are extremely durable and well-made. We are getting ready to begin a new school year in the Fall and I have no doubts these will be utilized daily in just about every subject to keep him focused and on task!

Great for teaching children to read
I have a young son who I just starting to learn to read and write. These rulers were an easy, fun, and effective way to help him focus on each line one at a time. The colored rulers also made him more interested in reading. It allows you to interactively teach your child to focus on each word and to read deliberately. He gets excited and sometimes starts speeding through the words. This helps him read each word one by one and take time to pronounce each word properly. The plastic is durable and it comes with 10 rulers, all in different colors. The package has easy to understand directions with pictures, and the rules are easy to get out of the package without damaging the directions. The shipping was really fast.

Useful for those who suffer from color sensitivity, migraines, or Irlen Syndrome
I have been officially tested and diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome, a type of extreme color sensitivity that, among other things, makes it hard to read. I have colored lenses in my glasses, but I also have severe migraines and the amount of light I can tolerate does not work with reading as far as the color is concerned. I bought these in the hope that the variety of colors would allow me to figure out one or two that were compatible with both paper and limited light.I had a lot of trouble at first, but that's because I did not realize they had the coating on. I'm hoping they improve this, because it is almost undetectable and very difficult to remove. I learned about it, in fact, by reading the reviews. Once I did get the sheets clear, I saw they were designed like my original Irlen color sheets, with each having a shiny and a matte side. This is because color sensitivity of that degree means a matte light green is a different color than a shiny one.The easiest way to figure out which color works is to read aloud. Our minds fill things in for us, correctly or falsely, when we read in our heads. Our tongues are not so clever, making it easier to tell when your reading is better.Anyway, I'm still figuring out which is the best color when (depending on the lighting, the shade of glasses, or the color of the paper), but these reading strips are allowing me to read paper books again. They're designed for textbook width, which is a little awkward in a paperback, but it's doable, and the broader width means they work for everything from paperback to magazine without needed additional sizes and yet are not as bulky as an 8.5 x 11 sheet would be. I also like the line to keep my attention on the sentence I'm reading without "borrowing" words from the sentence above or below it and disrupting my comprehension. My only wish would have been a carry case of some sort so they don't get bent or scratched when not actively in a book.

Great color choices
My eight year old really appreciates the color choices. When reading they like to choose a color that matches her mood. The thin black line helps her track the line she is reading and the coloring film allows the words to appear clearer to her.

I'm in college and use these!
I really adore these! I use them as book marks as well as readers. Bright but not so bright in the eyes that it is off-putting, these are fantastic when it comes to reading my textbooks. Sometimes my textbooks are too wordy/have to many paragraphs that I actually read the same lines over again and these really help to guide my vision regarding the lines! Also! I like that I can see what I have previously read whether I read with the line on the or bottom part of the readers. I prefer to read with the line at the bottom so I can see what I just read and can review easily! I have used other readers where you only get enough room for 1 line and the line before and after the reader space is blocked off and honestly I prefer these. This is because, personally, when I read with the centered type readers, I'll forgot what I just read.I would definitely buy more of these They are useful and the seller is awesome!

Great!!!
I chose the rulers because of their size. I had seen others but they were just narrow strips and not easily handled. These cover the width of most elementary text books and the reading line is situated so the text size of most kids books fits perfectly over the line. They are good quality and sheer enough to easily see the text. Kids can choose which color suits them. Plus, these allow the following line to be easily visible - which is very important when working on fluent reading! I am quite pleased with my purchase!
