Fat Brain Toys PlayTab Essentials, Modular Sensory Activity Board for Babies and Toddlers Ages 12 Months+

Bought these for my granddaughter as we don’t have a local toy store other than bug box stores. She loves it. Very curious about it. Even our 16 month old granddaughter loves it too!

The Fat Brain Toys PlayTab Essentials has quickly become one of my two-year-old’s favorite toys. I like that this toy can be customized and updated as baby grows. It is made from good quality materials, is durable, and includes several great sensory and motor activities. Our local toy store also carries additional tiles that can be rotated in so you can change the toy up often or every few months instead of putting it away. This is great for 7-8 month olds and up. Our one-year-old twins still play with this every day.

This busy board type toy is engaging, colorful and fun for babies and young toddlers. The 6 “tiles” can be removed and moved around on the board and are magnetized to stay in place. There are additional activity tiles that can be purchased separately and used and interchanged on the board. The activity tiles that come on this board are interactive, educational and sensory stimulating. There is one that requires the child to turn a small dial which is attached to an arm that moves the brightly colored enclosed balls. One that has three different type of colorful “switches” that can be manipulated, one that has a door covering a mirror that opens when the button is pressed, one that is a color wheel that spins freely when the color disc is spun, one has a geared dial that the child turns with a handle and the last one has 9 marbles that are encased in the cube but can freely move when touched by the child. The toy is a well made, durable and good quality toy but is on the expensive side. I like that the activity cubes are interchangeable on the wooden tray and that 6 can be stored on the board. The weight of the toy allows children to carry it and pick it up easily. I will look into the cost associated with adding additional activity cubes to the tray.
