Are these bed bug proof? Is there fabric around the zipper or plastic?

Our products use very fine sewing technology at the zipper and plastic joints, which can block most insects from entering, but it is not certain for some extremely small insects.

How long have you used this before having issues? Breaking?

I've been using these for fabric storage for probably a year with no issue. They are for storage so I'm not putting a whole lot of wear and tear on them, although I do pull them out, access the zippers etc. a couple times a month. I've been very happy with them.
