So happy
I ordered this really cool tree without knowing anything about the company. So I was a bit nervous. Well I got it in in speedy fashion; but was concerned as it was nothing but a stick. So I kept an open mind and put it in my grow room (after repotting it into a high quality soil and good size pot) - warm, grow lights - for plants that it is just too early to place out in the late winter/early spring (never know when it will frost) weather. I didn't see anything for a while ... but the stem was green. Well when I say this baby burst with Leaves I am not kidding. I check my plants every night when I get home (watering- repotting as needed - adjusting ties etc.) I got home one night and it was covered .. It is really beautiful and just continues to flourish. I think I love this company!

Trees delivered in poor shape and packaging. no response from seller
update 5-4-2013sadly this tree didnt survive. i babied it for about a year. even kept it inside to shield it from the elements. it was slowly dieing the entire time. the moral of the story is sometimes a deal is not a deal. i basically paid $70 for 1 tree and even the one that survived is barely hanging on and has never straightened out from being bent in half in the box. If the other one dies I will be sure to update this review againOriginal ReviewThis review was originally written for the Fireglow maple but I oredered them at the same time and the details apply to both. Just be aware that the smaller tree mentioned in the review is the purple ghost maple. These trees are going to be really pretty if I am able to rehab them. Unfortunately the way these were packaged and the way they were not taken care of before being delivered left both of the trees I ordered from this company in poor shape. The first problem is that they were boxed in 2 USPS priority boxes that were stuck together by their glue strips to make one larger box. Unfortunately one of the trees was twice as tall as the boxes so the solution by the seller was to bend the tree in half and shove it into the box anyway. Really, I paid $16 for shipping for 2 trees and they couldn't buy a box that fit? So of course this tree now has a 90 degree curve. I am sure this will straighten out over time but this could have been handled better. Not only that but I ordered two trees and paid $8 each for shipping but they crammed both trees into the same package. I would have been okay with them both being in the same package and the company making a profit on the shipping if they had just put them both in a box that would fit them both. Fortunately the second tree was a 1 year graft so it wasn't as tall and didn't have to be bent to fit into the box.The second problem with these trees is they stripped all of the foliage off of the trees with the exception of the very top. I am not sure if they did this so they could propagate the clipped portions to make a larger profit off of this one or if they thought the root system would not support this amount of foliage, to give them the benefit of the doubt I will assume the latter but I don't think this needed to be done because the tiny little pots they had them in were bursting at the seems with roots. Another option is that they did it so that they could fit both trees into the same box. And yet another option is that the rest of the foliage was in such poor shape they pruned it off, which leads me to the third problem. What Foliage these trees still had was very damaged by insects. I hope that with a little TLC I can nurse these guys back to health but at this point I cant be sure. The smaller one looks a bit healthier than the larger one. The smaller is a purple ghost maple. I am leaving a review on that one as well.So the bottom line is if you decide to order from this company order small trees and order them 1 at the time. I have attempted to contact the seller to let them know of my disappointment but I have yet to receive a response. I may update this review if I hear back from them but as it stands right now I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase from Japanese Maples and Evergreens.I so hate leaving a negative review but with the condition of these plants and lack of response from the seller I felt I needed to warn anyone thinking about buying these. Honestly this situation makes me want to buy the rest of them just to rescue them from this nursery. Its a shame to see such beautiful species treated this way. Even if the seller does respond to me at this point I don't want a refund and I am not sending the trees back because honestly it is worth the $70 for the two trees and shipping to try and rescue them.

Arrived alive, small, potted, 12-9-22, no ID tag
Was surprised tree arrived potted in December (late in season to plant in my Zone 7). Expected a bare root tree about 1' to 2' height to ship in Spring 2023. Received live, 6" height, in a 3" square pot, for order placed 12-4-22 that was delivered on 12-9-22 in a priority USPS mail box with one hole bashed in side (for air). The plant/tree had no horticultural ID tag and was not shipped in 'plant' box. But was able to plant in ground on 12-10-22 and this is picture on 1-7-23 of tree with looks like buds for new growth. Still not clear of source of nursery or person that shipped tree to me. This tree is offered at 2'-3' height bare root for over $100. Got a 6" for $15. which I will use as a Bonsai to eventually see what kind of tree was really shipped to me in 2022!

Size for the price
I have ordered a bunch of plants from amazon and almost all were healthy and the size matched price.I was disappointed with this tree,i was expecting it to be in the area of 30 to 36 inches like others ive seen,it was about 12 inches, disappointing ,ill try to grow it anyway and enjoy it but like i said ,size didnt match price.Even my wife laughed at it when i opened it

You're not getting a sapling
I can't find the photo my girlfriend sent me when it arrived at the house. It came in a basic USPS Priority Mail box 2.5" x 8" x 10". The root ball was a 3" x 3" x 6" high block of potting soil, wrapped in plastic film and the tree was a grafted twig with two leaves. I can only hope it grows enough by Fall that it will survive the winter. I plan to cover it to hopefully give it better odds.

Amazing Plants from this Nursery!
I bought this Maple because of its purplish hue and the suggestion of ghosts and it does have a haunted look though not quite as purple as I thought but still very intriquing. I bought this with several other gorgeous fir plants and they arrived very quickly and well packed, healthy! Lots of care goes into these plants. They are only a couple of weeks in the ground but all seem to be doing well. I like the uniqueness of the plants offered by this nursery and am very satisfied. I wondered why it cost about $30.00 to send but I really can't complain because the product and quality were virtually perfect. It's wonderful to know these plants are available and this nursery exists!
