Great projector with average remote
I purchased this projector to upgrade from the previous InFocus X2 model. The projector is great, but the remote is very basic. They removed the volume controls from remote and has no laser pointer. They are esentially getting you to buy their upgraded remote. I do a lot of presentations with video and need the ability to control volume.

No complaints. Does everything.
I bought this about a year and a half ago and it's given me solid service.I have it in my living room where I shine it on a 130" diagonal screen. I switch it between my laptop, DVD player, and Nintendo Wii and it projects all of them flawlessly. I don't even have to unplug it - it automatically looks for an incoming video signal and adjust itself accordingly. All I have to do is turn it on and pull down the screen. One of the easiest to use projectors I've experienced. The resolution (1024 x 800) is better than most projectors and the picture is bright and strong. A bit tough to see in daylight, though. It has internal speakers that work adequately, but they're tinny and not very loud. I recommend getting a set of amplified speakers for an extra $100 or so.The only complaint that some people may have is it's size. It's rather thick and bulky and not easily transportable, nor is it designed to be. But the extra size helps in cooling the bulb and makes it last longer. It also comes with a remote control, which some may find handy but I've never used.

Bulb burned out at third use
Not a happy camper. I tested the projector by running it for about an hour shortly after I bought it. In preparation for a meeting where I would be using it, I ran it the day prior for a few minutes and reviewed the instruction manual. Everything seemed fine. Then this morning, when I set it up at the meeting I was presenting at, the bulb burned out. I followed the manual to turn off projector and wait a minute--did that two times--still no bulb. I returned it and exchanged it for a Toshiba.

Great projector! Great Value!
Excellent contrast ratio and color. I'm able to view this with a moderate amount of light turned on in the room. Picture quality doesn't seem to be as sharp as my previous projector but it is adequate.

workhorse
I've used this projector in my classroom for over a year now. At first it was on a table, but I now have it mounted on the ceiling. I turn it on and off many times each day, and it never fails me. Nice, bright, crisp clear image. I recommend it highly.

I was so pumped to get this back in 08
My 1st projector, I was in love for the 1st 2 bulbs 4K hours! I ordered this unit on January of 2008 so it's seen a lot of use. The 1st 2 years I had no screen and just beamed it on paneling that was pained a greenish color, it looked fantastic to me and it stayed like that for many hours, in a 15'x12' smoke filled room that was never dusted. See, the place I live in at the time was a 100+ year old farm house that was in a state of disrepair with 2-3 people officially living there and another 10 or so unofficial inhabitants. This projector saw lot of usage, from lot of folks whom drank to much and passed out while using it, it was much later that I discovered there was a setting that would turn it off when no signal was present, that knowledge could have put off my 1st bulb purchase. The 1st bulb only made it about 1 year till it started getting dim at the 2k hour mark. At this point the bulbs were $280ish, so that was a problem for my wallet, if I had known there was a feature to auto turn power off this could have been avoided. The projector is LOUD, I mean really loud. I had it mounted directly over the sofa and holy crap it was hard to ignore, it started getting super loud around year 3/4 finally it was going into a protection mode after a few minutes. I took it apart and as I suspected it was loaded with dust from years of neglect and cigarettes, once I cleaned it out it went back to just loud with no protection mode.I just replaced it this weeks so it will now serve as a back up/ portable unit for outdoor movies and what not. All and all this was a reliable and bright unit, but for watching movies and playing video game it was just not that great, you loose too much detail in the dark scenes, especially on cracked downloaded movies.
