Good but..
So this is a good jacket but is it worth it? I’m on the fence about it. So the size is true and accurate. The material seem a little on thin and flimsy. I only say this because it’s the same material as one I purchased locally from another store for $30. To wrap up, it’s a good jacket I’m just not sure it’s priced accordingly.

Excellent for amphibian research
Light enough for packing, excellent for amphibian surveys on wet nights in temperate or tropical forests. All of the “new” rain gear has transitioned to short jackets that are not uselful for spending extended time in heavy downpours. I combine this with the OR wide brim rain hat (since I wear glasses) and can comfortably spend hours out in the rain. It is fairly warm, good most of the time but will make you sweaty if doing strenuous activity (though I’ve never found rain gear that won’t).

Defective - button missing on strap inside coat that connects to one on back collar to hide hood
Actually loved the coat, it was what I was looking for with long length & waterproof. However, it was defective, the button was missing on strap inside coat that connects to one on back collar to hide hood. With this missing, there is no way to stow the hood when not in use. I returned it & hope to receive confirmation from manufacturer that defect has been corrected before replacing

Disappointed
My husband and I live on a farm, so I spend a lot of time outside in all kinds of weather. I was so excited to have a raincoat that reached below the tops of my boots, so my legs stayed dry. From the start the zipper was of poor quality, and was difficult to zip. Last night I rode in it for the first time. It was fine until I went to get off. I’m not sure what it got caught on, as I ride in an English saddle, but the bottom of the zipper pulled away from the coat. For the money, I thought it would be better quality.

GREAT RAIN COAT!
Wonderful rain coat! Lightweight but a durable material. Finding full length rain coats with a decent hood is impossible (and no- one can’t use umbrellas in northern CA - too windy!). For years LL Bean sold a good coat. But the price went up and the quality went downhill. But this Outback Trading coat is wonderful: good length (I’m 5’7” and the coat in XL comes down to my lower calf), deep zipped pockets on the sides and a Velcro pocket on the inner left, roomy hood and cords to cinch it up against wind and rain. The feature that was the nicest - due to the lightweight nylon of the coat - I wear whatever layers underneath to stay warm (NorCal winters = rain storms). No messing about with a zip in liner which may or may not keep you warm. If you live in warmer areas this jacket works like a long windbreaker.Apparently it’s packable - but haven’t tried that feature yet. I got a size larger than normal so as to wear layers underneath if necessary. Would definitely travel with this coat.
