It’s pretty dated
It’s pretty dated but it does the job. Not really the picture quality of today, but it’s better than nothing.

Will not format sd card to then record
I’m at my wits end. I tried multiple times to format sd card so that unit can record. I physically checked the sd card to verify it was not switched on lock/write protected mode. I swapped from bay 1 to bay 2….still unable to format card. Further power supply supply cable manual mentions a three wire power supply (ground, 12v power and switches 12v/accessory power), mine only had two (12v power and ground). Then silly me followed the dvr manual and connected the 12v constant power to a fuse then to battery… unit does not power off AT ALL. This will deplete battery as cameras and dvr is always on. Very disgruntled. Need help: 1. Can I get a 3 wire power supply and connect it to stop dvr from being constantly on? 2. Is there another way to format sd card?

Not so great after all, see my update.
This DVR has a lot more features than the ad shows. It is configurable from the menu for 1 or 2 cameras, has a really good picture, can be used with 1 or 2 sd cards. The remote controls an on a screen menu. You can set resolutions to save memory, set modes for recording. There is a backup power supply so it can save the last recording if the power is interrupted but I needed to install a diode in the power line to prevent the DVR from back feeding my cars electrical system. The manual comes on a mini CD which has info for an older model but you won't need it because operation is intuitive. UPDATE: Have had some problems since I bought it. Does not seem to handle files properly. After an indeterminate period, the DVR will lose all it's stored files and will require me to reformat the disks. Not very reliable after all.

Wrong Disk Recording
Records on disk 2 when only one camera connected to Cam 1 input? How to fix?

Beware not for ACC
Hooking this to your acc circuit will cause it to keep your engine running. Then, when finally dead will make your MCU freak out. Silverado. Engine Hot AC turned off error. Fix: turn engine off, pull MCR Engine fuse in front panel for more than 10 seconds and reinsert. Not for vehicles…
