Low watage
We really like the low wattage and these heaters are hard to find. I was so happy to find this one that I ordered an extra one for future use. The heater works well and saves us some electricity.

Time will tell if these are any good
bought 3 of them, they are like others have said, the element is 6 inches from the bottom of the threads. my package was labled with a camco #02493 .I used them to replace failed ones in a 3 element tankless electric water heater , the elements are silver in color but i don think they are stainless steel , the threaded head was the same silver as the element body and a magnet would stick to it easily , so ill bet that it is just nickle plating on the entire unit.hopefully they last longer that the original elements which were 3 years old. time will tell.At least i can have a hot shower now . ;o)

After a year of service the threads on two elements are gone
I bought two of these heating elements a year ago to replace similar elements in the hot tub. Few days ago one of them developed a leak, due to the failed thread, the other one turned out to be very close to the same condition. I don't know what those threads were made of (probably copper), but they are completely gone. I bought a replacement (on the picture) before disassembling the heater, but will be returning it shortly and buying another brand.Sorry, can't recommend this product.

Rust
Started to rust after first use. Not a great sign. Apart from that, worked really well.

It works just fine
I bought this element to use in my 6 gal hwt in my rv. Why it works so well: It heats the water while putting less stress on the electrical system in our rv that has a 30 service. My wife and I can have sequential purser showers and still have enough hot water to do up a few dishes. In stead of drawing the traditional 12 amps (1400W), it only draws 5 (600W). Yes the recovery is slower but acceptable. It will save the thermostat contacts and have less calisifacion on the element itself. If I want a really speedy recovery, I simply use the propane to assist.
