I need to wrap boxes to mail to Europe. Do you think this paper will hold up?

We wrapped framed artwork. A couple of the corners tore (likely due to how sharp the edges of some of the frames were). I think this would work to wrap parcels for overseas. We wrapped a small parcel to Australia and it arrived intact. The paper is heavier than standard wrapping paper but it's not quite as heavy as the paper grocery sacks in our local store. How well does it handle paint?

I didn't apply paint, but I can't imagine there would be a problem with acrylic paint. Water color could be problematic. This is like grocery bag paper.
