The Life Coaching Handbook: Everything You Need to be an effective life coach

I am loving this book! Well written and easy to read.l and understand. I don’t have to read stuff over and over again to figure what’s being said which makes learning the topic more enjoyable. This book is helping me be more excited about being an effective life coach!

This is the first book on life coaching I read that described how to work with clients by applying Spiral Dynamics. I was inspired and motivated. Thank you, Curly.

It wasn't a bad read but I would have been willing to pay a higher price if it went into depth more.

I got some nice ideas but its basic

This book provided a comprehensive, but very understandable overview of the life coaching profession. It provided both a practical and theoretical base for understanding life coaching. I felt this was a crucial base of information, as I start my own life coaching business.

I've read a few coaching books but none so detailed and organized as this one. The author has created a program that moves chapter to chapter, from beginning techniques to more advanced techniques. If followed in order, the potential coach with learn from start to finish how to begin a coaching session, what to say, how to organize the session correctly, how to communicate effectively with the client and motivate them to improve their lives. It also contains information on how to start your own coaching business. There are many valuable techniques to choose from as well. I was more than impressed with this book!

Vague. Not helpful

I think this book is great at hitting the basics of coaching, but it does feel quite dated. If you're wanting to build an online business, this book wont go into marketing that way.It also mentions niching as an aside, but these days most people want to specialiseWhat this book does is give you some basics. So if that's what you're looking for, you wont be too disappointed.

If you are thinking about becoming a life coach this is the book for you. Not only is it inspirational it also has practical information about how to set up a life coaching practice. It is in three distinct parts the first dealing clearly and effectively with life coaching basics, how to start a practice and make a success.The second part comprises of very clear and simple to follow usage of NLP within life coaching. There are several case studies and examples which make the process not only interesting to read but also easy to put into practise.The final part uses an adaptation from the Spiral Dynamics double helix model to clearly define its uses in life coaching. Not an easy task but one which the author has achieved excellently.I highly recommend this book not only for life coaches but also for anyone involved in the coaching world. A must have book. I hope you enjoy and benefit from reading this book as much as I have.

This book is a very broad overview of the authors career as a life coach.They reference Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques, however they do not enter into enough detail for anyone to actually benefit from reading about it. One chapter is about setting up business and is very outdated now (the book is over 20 years old)If you do not have a practioner qualification in NLP and you wish to have a very brief overview, with limited practical information on coaching methods, then this book will be a great introduction.

I have just started reading this book and am 33 pages in and loving it! I am just starting out as a life coach and finding this book to be extremely helpful. It is building on the knowledge I already have and teaching me new things that will 100% enhance my coaching ability. Great read.

The Life Coaching Handbook is an invaluable resource which I recommend for anyone considering a career as a Life Coach. In her book, the hugely inspirational coach and speaker, Curly Martin gives the reader a simple and structured coaching model to use with their client. She also provides insight, practical tips and advice on all the skills you need to be an effective and successful life coach. If you follow this guidance, you'll go far !. I've had the book for a few years now and I still go back to it time and time again to re-read various chapters as a refresher.I highly recommend it.

An inspirational and informative read. If you have an interest in life coaching, either for yourself, or as a career, then this book as a must-have for your collection. Written by renowned Life Coach Curly Martin, it is comfortable and easy to read, it flows well, and covers all the basics to life coaching, from defining the process, through skills, different models of coaching and even touching upon NLP! It really is an all-encompassing book on this subject, and if you're new to coaching, then this is a great first read on the subject.

This book is just a very basic overview of life coaching. It is simply written but does not add anything

I purchased this book to learn about life coaching and was pleasantly surprised to find that, not only did I learn about life coaching but also how to start a life coaching practice. Obviously, reading one book won't make you a qualified life coach, but it is an ideal introduction to the field and a great launch pad from which to either read more on the subject or actually take a life coach training course.Ms Martin's encouraging style of writing kept me reading and made me hunger to learn more. As a result I also purchased her two other books. All of her books (like Curly in person) are encouraging and motivating.Happy reading.

There's plenty in here about life coaching (the knowledge you need and the how to do it) as well as how to run coaching as a business (and this would apply to many businesses).Very clearly written with good advice and interesting examples.
