Invaders from Afar brings in two new factions to Scythe. Togawa, the Japanese faction, and Albion, the Scots.After having played with both, I can safely say that these are powerful in their own right and fun to play with. Although they are the furthest from the factory (literally coming from afar) they do not have to deploy riverwalk to expand and are difficult to attack immediately (this makes a HUGE difference in a 3-4 player game).There is an added game mechanic of flags and traps with the Japanese and Scots respectively. This makes for even more careful movement and optimization on the game board.As always, the mechs and characters are beautifully designed.Overall, this is a must-have expansion for anyone who plays Scythe regularly.
