Probably fine but not what I'm looking for
The item description lists the weight of this chisel as 4.8 ounces, but that is incorrect. The weight is approximately 8 ounces. I wanted a lightweight chisel to carry in my tool belt and only occasionally use and this isn't it.While I'm measuring the thing, the overall length is 10.25" and the blade length is 4.25".

Continuous tang through handle, better than other 2" wide chisels.
Strong tool for carpentry and garden use. Much better than other chisels with longer reach and the critical design being the metal of the blade is one piece through the handle. This is a wide chisel and takes lots of impact to drive into wood, so this is really important! An upgrade from fine woodworking chisels which cannot be used for framing, cutting small trees away from fences in a suburban yard, etc. I am laying insulation in my garage and house attic and sheathing with plywood. In order to lay the house commercial power wiring under the plywood I need to cut shallow trays into the deck framing, maybe 1/2" deep and 2" wide, then using nailing stops, those little metal plates over the wire once laid. The force to cut dozens of these in ceiling attic framing will destroy a plastic handled chisel. To for household use I would recommend this one. Funny, not carried at local big box retailers like Home Depot or Lowes, or local wood working carpentry tool supply store. Good luck, and thank you for reading.

Right Choice
Irwin did a great job with this chisel. I used it to build a deck and put it through a beating. It did its job and already paid for its self. It was sarp out of the package and kept a decent edge throughout the project. Needs a sharpening now but it is expected considering what I put it through. Definitely recommend it.

Product Details Misleading
Ordered this because I needed a longer chisel for a home improvement project I'm working on. The product details say it is 13.13 inches long. This is the length of of the plastic holder for the chisel-the actual tool is only 10.5 inches. This is slightly longer than an average chisel, but not as long as I need for this project. Product seems well made and looks like it can be used for heavy duty use.

Well constructed chisel at a reasonable price.
Arrived timely and damage-free.The chisel seems to be well constructed and quite sturdy.Though sharp enough to use for general purposes, I did need to flatten and hone it for my particular application.Overall, it was a worthwhile purchase and I am happy with it.

Good tool
I used this chisel while building a wood shed out of roundwood deadfall that I gathered from the forest. Good width for the size of mortise and tenon that I was creating. Used a rubber mallet as the striker. Would definitely get another one if I needed a replacement.

Bom.
Cabo pesado desequilibrando a ferramenta. Necessita agitação e polimento. A loja vendedora enviou o PRODUTO ERRADO: comprei uma peça de 50 mm e recebi uma de 32 mm. Optei por presentear a um amigo e comprei um Narex 50 mm em outra loja.

Solid construction all around chisel
This is pretty much good for all tasks requiring a chisel as long as the size is right for your job. Excellent and solid construction. Irwin is a very good brand!I use this for heavy duty work and for renovations and it’s excellent.

Great chisel, especially for the price
I've bought two of these, a 1" and a 1/2". The 1" is my go-to chisel whenever I want to clean the shoulders of a tenon. It sharpens with ease and keeps the edge for a fair amount of time, has good heft to ease the job, and is quiet pleasant to hold and use. Highly recommend it over most other chisels in this price range. Will probably buy more of these myself.

Para uso amador é nota 10!
Bom acabamento.
