Just as advertised
Real strong tool. Almost indestructible. I like it a lot.

Decent for the price
It came somewhat dull, just with a burr on the edge and after a few swings some of the black paint near the edge chipped to reveal some rust underneath. But other than that, as long as it doesn't fall apart in the future, its a decent ax for the price

Wow, A Finally a Great Axe for a Great Price
We recently had a tornado strike here in Oklahoma. We had 7 large trees come down on the property. A local crew helped in clearing most, but I needed an axe to trim off some of the logs. I purchased my Powerhouse axe and it came early today, I put it to work almost immediately and WOW....what a great axe. I love the feel of the wooden handle and the blade is perfect. We used it until dark, brought it in and sharpened it and will be out again in the morning with my new Powerhouse PHX -11 700 High Performance Axe!!!

Don’t buy
I ordered this last week and it came with a loose head. I sent it back to request another one. The second one came with a loose head. Also, their quality control sucks. The head is glued on and does not have a wedge to the handle. I would not make a purchase for this product.

Great Wood Splitting Axe
Bought the Powerhouse Axe strictly for splitting hardwoods for my pizza oven. It's large head and balanced handle make it a breeze to use. Can't miss the axe out in the yard either with the very bright orange phosphorescent handle! Looks like it will last a lifetime. The manufacturer even offers a free blade sharpener if you register the product. Go Powerhouse!

To be very clear, the price was too good to be true, and I walked right into it. Pros: nice and light, as far as axes are concerned. It seemed to split ok for its weight and length vs the knotted oak I had. The blade profile seems to be decent as a chopper, not very sharp when I got it.Cons: The handle is not great quality, says it is hickory, and I don't know enough about wood to dispute that, but it seems rough and not as tight grained as I would expect. The bigger issue is that the head already started to separate after just a few swings. I haven't taken it apart to see if the wedges are moving or if the handle is too narrow, no idea until I remove the black stuff off the handle to see the actual top/wedges. I'm hoping it is salvageable, but that remains to be seen.

Haven't sunk it into any wood yet, but my handle is pretty nice , although I do not know how well the head is going to stay with just having two steel rings / without a wedge slice. But hey , for the price what do you expect
