4 ways to identify a counterfeit
I received my pen from Amazon Warehouse deals. I checked my pen using the following checklist, and I believe it to be real. If you're curious about your own pen, you might want to go through this list as well!- Doe the nib have a rubberized tip? Shine a flashlight on it -- there should be a line where the material goes from shiny to matte near the tip.- Is the pen pressure sensitive? Draw some things in the s-note app, make sure that harder pressure levels produce heavier lines.- Are the numbers imprinted on the pen next to the country marking barely visible / difficult to discern? On a real s-pen, it should be very difficult to make out what the numbers are without shining a flashlight across the pen. On some counterfeits they are more readily apparent.- When you hold the pen at a ~60 degree angle (normal for writing) to the screen and hover, does the indicator appear on the screen? Is it directly below the tip? Some counterfeits may be sensitive to use at an angle and show the indicator in the wrong place.Genuine s-pens may be manufactured in China, Vietenam, Taiwan, or elsewhere. The country marking is not a reliable way to identify counterfeits. All in all, seems to be a correct replacement. Recommend buying from Amazon to get the real thing.

Authentic, original equipment Samsung stylus - works exactly as the one that came with the phone
Despite some of the paranoiac reviews about this being a good counterfeit, I can find no evidence that this is not a genuine OEM Samsung stylus. I purchased this as a replacement for the stylus that came with my Note 4, which I managed to break in a freak accident. The new stylus came in a Samsung case and included a tip replacement tool and extra nibs, shrink wrapped in plastic. The Samsung warranty leaflet was also included. (I suppose the box and everything else could be a replica, but if it is, they did a great job). Examining this new stylus in comparison to the broken pieces of my original stylus, it is identical. Even looking with a magnifying glass, I could see no differences. As to the fit in the phone, it is snug and the same as the original pen. I haven't felt any difference in how it slides in or out of the holder. Lastly, my phone recognized it immediately and the functionality is identical. Perhaps earlier suppliers - not Amazon - were providing counterfeit items that were fulfilled by Amazon? I only know that the one I received, which listed as sold directly by Amazon, appears to be an authentic Samsung stylus. I ordered it from Amazon because they were out of stock on the Samsung site (and in fact, the site directed me to Amazon).

Definitely Used
So I just got my stylus in the mail (a day early) today. Unfortunately, this was used, and you can tell by the chrome chipping at the top of it. It did not come with a tip set like the original, but it seems to work well with my Note 20 Ultra, which I don't use the native stylus on.

Exactly like the original - Love it!!
I lose these constantly - don't ask me why. There are probably four or five of them stuck in the middle of my couch that I can't get to. So... I've bought a couple of these... my kids bought me one and my husband bought me one. They all have worked great! They have all worked just as good as the original. It comes in an actual Samsung Galaxy Note Stylus box and has the Samsung name on the stylus - This one is NOT counterfeit. It does have the little light that shows up on the screen and it works perfectly to cut, paste, and write etc. I haven't had any issues at all except my losing the darn things!!I love the Galaxy Note and I love the Stylus. I wish all phones had something similar. I've made a promise to myself that this is the last time I will buy a new stylus. So I need to keep this one.

Did NOT receive genuine Samsung product.
I've had my phone for over a year and because of daily S Pen use my pens slips out easily. The first time it happened I ordered my pen from the Samsung website not trusting the counterfeit ones on here. The pen I received from Samsung came in an official box and included extra pen tips as well as the tip remover. On Sunday that S Pen got lost and I had to purchase another one. The Samsung site forwarded me to this listing as another online seller and with free shipping I jumped on it. Fast forward to today...this is not a real S Pen. First thing I noticed was the box it came it, no English. The only thing in English was the word Samsung and S Pen. The second thing I noticed was the pen did not have a silicone tip, it was a hard plastic tip. The third thing I noticed was that it did not come with the replacement tips or the tip remover. The fourth thing I noticed was that when used with my phone it would not select items when tapped. The only thing that worked was the button which pulled up my action memo menu...that's it. This will be going back and I will stick to ordering from Samsung directly. I see all of these reviews saying they got a legit product and I'm jealous. Maybe they ran out and I got stuck with the foreign knockoff. When I find my box from my official Samsung purchase I'll post so you all know what to look for in your purchase.

YES... It's Genuine OEM Samsung.
My new stylus arrived today and gave my humble Galaxy Note4 smartphone a new lease on life, since with my huge mitts a stylus is an absolute necessity. I replaced the old stylus (five years old, just like the phone) because it was dragging across the screen, and a "nib replacement" kit was very nearly the same price as a brand new stylus. The new stylus moves on the screen just as smooth as silk, and it arrived quickly. Highly recommend... for 15 clams, you can't beat it.

This IS the OEM stylus for the Note 4.
Not sure what happened with the packages sent to those that claim this is a knockoff. This is from Samsung as evidenced from the fine print on the packaging, the included warranty card, and comparing this with one that came as OEM with a Note 4 (T-mobile).The stylus comes with the same accessory bag found with a new device, so you get different tips/nibs as well as the tool for changing them out. The stylus (being OEM) fits perfectly in the phone and is snug with no hint of an issue. The tip is tracked from a distance of about 3 inches from the screen so the Hall sensor (or whatever) is working perfectly with it.
