This is a plastic Rotring 2.0mm pencil with a hex barrel to simulate the same hex feel of equivalent metal body Rotrings (500s (blend of metal and plastic), Rapid Pros, 600s and 800s). Note, Rotring only offers 2.0mm options in the 300 and Pro series. I own both and like them both, but for the money the 300 is a good deal. It feels good for a plastic pencil, like how it works, and it is inexpensive. Very nice for the money and nice to find a descent and affordable 2.0mm pencil. If you plan to use a 2.0 every day, want a forever pencil, or are giving a gift I would recommend the Rotring Rapid Pro 2.0 for basically double the cost of this 300 series.

Can't complain. Good 2mm pencil at a decent price. The lead hardness indicator moves very easily, so keeping them straight if you had several with different leads would be dodgy but a piece of colored tape or similar marking would keep them sorted. Would expect this to last a very long time without problems. My last one gave out on me after roughly 30 years... It wasn't a Rotring, but they are essentially made the same way. It's prettier than my last one.... FWIW..

Just became hip to the larger lead sizes like are used in this mechanical pencil. It is a lead that you have to sharpen, but the sharpener is included in the back of the pen and very easy to use. I really like it it’s a nice alternative to a standard pencil. I guess these types are known for drawing and drafting but I just use it for every day notetaking.

This is a great lead holder, however the built in sharpener is only so-so.

Good product

Having this lead holder made me want to find more uses or situations where I need it. I find myself wanting to sketch and draw a lot more mostly to use this and a few other utensils. Nice weight, nice feel and smooth mechanism holding the lead. Would definitely buy if I ever had to replace it.

I just want to note a reviewer mentioned that the hardness indicator is loose no actually it is mechanically advanced so when you choose the indicator the clip under it is in a space so when the clip is pushed down you change the indicator and then you push the clip back up to lock the indicator 😊 . Excellent pencil

The penn itself is kinda ok to use. Very plastic, but does what it should in a good manner. The problem was the shipping. This penn was simply thrown into the standard Amazon envelope without any protection at all. I'm amazed it came to me in one piece. Very badly packaged.
