Smelled nice but I was underwhelmed.
I generally use Secret or Degree Clinical Strength deodorant but I figured I'd give something a little more natural a try.First off, I love the smell. I wish there was a perfume to match. Generally lavender essential oils and lavender-scented products smell like chemicals to me. Too sicky-floral-sweet. This is subdued and reminds me more of lavender scented baby powder.More importantly, functionality. I wasn't impressed. I think I sweat about an average amount. But I found myself starting to smell a little funky about halfway through the day. Usually it wasn't strong so I'd put on some scented lotion (on my hands) to kind of mask the smell. -I'm laughing at myself that I'm admitting this to you.- Anyways. When I got home from work, I'd reapply and smell that wonderful light smell again. Usually I reapplied again before bed because we have a down comforter and even though the house is 60 degrees at night, I'm pretty toasty under the covers.A friend of mine who is really into natural beauty products told me that I would have to use this deodorant for about 2 weeks before I should start to naturally sweat a little less and that I should also smell less. -I have no idea where she heard that but that definitely did not happen for me. In retrospect, it actually sounds like a pretty wild claim. As for how long it lasts, you now know I usually applied this 2-3 times a day. I did that for about 3 weeks before I gave up and went back to my clinical strength stuff. I used it a few more times only right before bed before I ran out. So the one stick lasted me about 4-4.5 weeks. I felt it should have lasted longer but oh well.I keep considering buying this again only to wear before going to bed. But since this stuff is pretty pricey and my clinical strength lasts about a day and a half... I probably won't reorder. But if I saw it on the shelf at TJ Maxx for $4 or something, I definitely would.

From someone who normally wears Secret Clinical Strength...
Effectiveness: Ok, so it's not good enough to replace my industrial strength deo/anti-perspirant on a full-schedule day here in Arizona, but it keeps my pits unscented through a night of sleep**. Usually, my underarms will have a slight odor just from sleeping (I have to stick my nose close to smell it, but it's there), so it's nice to know I now have a good "natural" option for overnight. [**might be cheating, but if you have any on hand, swipe two drops each of tea tree oil and lemon essential oil on your pits before the Lavanila stick. By themselves, the essential oils don't deodorize long, but the combination of EOs and Lavanila seem to do the trick.]Consistency: It goes on very creamy, which I'm not used to (I wish it went on thinner), and dries to a very dry powder. I like that it doesn't feel tacky like regular deodorant does, and that it's much easier to wash off. After a while, the product seems to dry out and gets very chalky.Fragrance: The vanilla note is very weak so it smells pretty floral. While I was hoping for a sweeter smell (like Glade's chemtastic Lavender-Vanilla plug-in) this interpretation smells nice too. It fades really quickly (<hour), but once it fades it smells like nothing, instead of that odd, faintly-chemical smell regular deodorant leaves behind.Cost: The price didn't shock me too much since my go-to deodorant is about $10, and this was eligible for Prime shipping when I got it. Supposedly it has high-quality ingredients, and even the container has heft and a schfancy screw-on lid (personally, I prefer the pop-off type, but hopefully this preserves the already-weak $14 fragrance better).

... find a deodorant that doesn't ultimately make body odor worse for close to 3 years since I haven't been ...
I have been on a mad search to find a deodorant that doesn't ultimately make body odor worse for close to 3 years since I haven't been able to wear antiperspirant (it makes me itch on a dig until I bleed level). I read about LAVANILA from a few other sources online, and found one review that recommended layering an unscented crystal deodorant first, then a LAVANILA product for best results. This is the only way I have ever used these products, so I can't comment on how well they work by themselves, but I find I don't need an afternoon touch up like many reviewers have mentioned. I purchased two different scents and this one is my least favorite. I still like it and wear it on the weekends if I'm not doing anything overly strenuous, but it doesn't smell like lavender or vanilla and actually reminds me of the smell from those flower shaped scented soaps that every little old lady from my childhood in the 80's had neatly arranged in dishes in their bathrooms. It goes on smoothly, doesn't irritate my skin, and seems to last for a very long time so the price is actually a good deal.

The Natural Deodorant Debacle
Here's what you need to know about me:1. I sweat A LOT. Mostly from my underarms, thank goodness, but I'm a sweaty person nonetheless. And while it's not HORRIFYING, I do smell when I sweat.2. I've been looking for a natural deodorant for a while. I've tried a few different things, I've looked around at some different types, so I have some idea of what I'm talking about. So, for my review: This deodorant is okay. I know people question how "natural" it can be, but it's natural enough for me (no aluminum? Close enough), so that's not my issue. My issue is the PRICE (ughhhhhh) and its effectiveness. Price-wise, that's a lot to pay for deodorant. While you get a pretty weighty deodorant for the price, it still hurts to have to cough up that cash. However, one of these should last you...6 months? But the effectiveness... Sadly, as a sweaty person who does indeed smell when she sweats, this did not live up to my hopes and dreams. Even in the winter, this wore off by 3pm and left me self conscious about my stank. I kept trying and trying, but it was always the same - around mid-afternoon, I'd be a stinky mess.Still, it actually goes on like "real" deodorant (some of the natural stuff is goopy or whatever) and it does smell really nice. So if you're looking for a natural deodorant, like nice things, don't sweat or smell a ton, this should be fine for you! It just wasn't for me.

AWESOME SAUCE!!! ;)
I made the switch from 'drug store' deodorant to Lavanila's lavender natural deodorant about 2 months ago.I made the switch and will NEVER SWITCH BACK!! It's so great, odor and sweat protection that lasts for days if need be ;) No rashes or ingrown hair and my underarms are smooth, no pores clogged with that toxic gunk.Love it but Sephora sold out. Found it here, cheaper by 5$ too!! I'll be buying it here again for sure :)Cheers!

Doesn't stop you from sweating
Smells fine, mainly lavender-ish (cant smell the vanilla as much), but doesn't last all day and doesn't stop you from sweating (which I'm guessing is due to the fact that it is organic)
