My daughter loves this bass. We had a little trouble figuring out how to use the pad, but eventually figured it out.

the neck on the guitar is bad... very disappointed..for the amount of money I paid.

Bass with unique features but a few things to be aware of:
It takes a while to really learn how to use the kaoss pad to it's fullest but certainly lends itself to a pretty unique bass to have in one's arsenal. I've owned over 60 basses, this one is different from any of them (of course you can buy the kaoss pad separately and utilize it with any bass but not built into it like this one).I'm giving it 5 stars because of what I paid for it and the overall value-had I bought it at full price, I would probably regard it a 4 star purchase.A few things to be aware of:-1) the bass itself is not high quality - more like a budget Gio - the finish is not the best and only after little use is prone to getting worn shiny spots on it. Given the price and the fact that the mini kaoss pad 2 sells for $159, the bass essentially would be $250. You can buy better quality basses for this money, just not built specifically to accommodate the kaoss pad. Expect an Ibanez Gio quality and you'll know what I mean.2) there is no tone knob for the bass in clean mode, just volume. The other two knobs are for the built in distortion effect.3) the battery in the kaoss pad lasts about 4-5 hours, so rechargeable batteries are highly recommended.4) the bass out of the box is not quite set up properly, the string height on mine (and from other comments I've read about on this bass) was set too high. lowering it to it's optimal height is likely needed.5) the instructions on the kaoss pad is minimal - so you'll have to read/learn about much of the features on your own.6) Doesn't come with a micro sd card to store on the kaoss pad, so if you buy this bass, you may want to also buy a micro sd card or make sure you have one. It's not necessary in order to utilize the effects, but to store loops, recordings etc. Good to have.7) The bass has a headphone jack on it. I don't remember if the feature is mentioned on the description.
