I have been fooling around for 2 years trying to fix this busted piece of hood on my tractor. I have used every plastic cement glue known to man kind. Finally after a ton of thought and research I bought this machine. I was like a kid in a candy store. What man doesn't love heating and melting stuff? It took me back to my old wood burner days. Lol. Well I melted a ton of staples into the piece. Clipped all the tail pieces off and slathered JB Weld on top just as an extra precaution. This job turned out better than I could have hoped for. I have been mowing for 2 months now and the fix is still as good as new. Not long after I fixed the tractor hood our Start Button on our washing machine quit working. I disassembled the control panel and used some staples to "weld" the broken plastic prongs together. It worked wonderfully and saved us $1000 dollars for a new washer because that panel is no long available! So......in closing for $100 dollars I fixed a $700 hood and a $1000 washing machine. Money well spent in my book. Will I ever need it again, who knows? My neighbor wants to "borrow" it to repair his rubber bumper cover on his car, so there is that. Lol Buy it you will be impressed.

This tool is a very good tool well maid and works very good

Used it to fix my front bumper and it clearly holds it together, but it still felt weakly bonded and I had to reinforce the fix with epoxy to feel comfortable with it. But overall it's a pretty good product and easy to use.

This thing is ridiculous in the best way possible. It fixed my bumper, but it also lit a board on fire 🔥 when I was playing around with it i don't know who needs level 5 that make the staples so hot they turn cherry red and can light stuff on fire but if you want to build a big thick plastic house that's not gonna break this Is what you need

We purchased the kit to repair a bumper cover torn apart at the bottom. Feeling the need to practice my technique, I decided to start with a repair to our big curbside garbage can that is often tossed by the sanitation professionals, especially in cold weather. This results in multiple fractures to the sides and lid. The repair went well and soon was able to sink the staples just deep enough to secure the plastic pieces. We used a Dremel tool and cutting wheel to file down the sharp staple ends. This is important as it may cause a bad injury if not smoothed and made flush with the plastic surface. One little note... In addition to the front power switch there is a rear on-off switch by the cord. Great tool. Can save the cost of bumper cover replacement, but practice first on your busted trash can.

I finally got around to trying this thing out and it far exceeded my expectations. It is great. This model is more expensive than the simple gun style models but it had such good ratings I opted for it and now I know why it costs more. In addition to the time that the heat is on this one gives you 5 settings for how hot the staple gets. I fixed several difficult plastic items in a matter of minutes. I found I could even pre-shape the staple to get uniform penetration into the plastic. These repairs were on items where superglue and epoxy simply wouldn't work. I would recommend that you use your Dremel to grind off the tiny nubs of wire after nipping them close. The nubs are very sharp and you can easily cut yourself on them.

I’ve been looking for a solution to fixing cracked and broken plastic for a long time. I’ve bought plastic welders from HF, used epoxy, even drilled holes on both side a cracks and used zip ties to “stitch” it back together. This stapler is easy to use and has several heat settings. The staples make the repair as strong as if not stronger than original. I like the fact that this seller offers 2 year warranty over others with the same machine that offer 1 year. Also this one comes with the triangle smoothing tool thing that works great too. I think it’ll work well enough to hold liquid, like on a plastic water or fuel tank. I recommend this to anyone who’s ever broken anything plastic

This plastic welder is everything it says it is. It will fix most basic projects but if you want to get into a major repair, I would likely go with the hot air plastic welder.

Very awesome product , every thing is in this kit , plus this Plasticweld gun is the only one that has 3 different positions to put the staples into the end of the plastic gun to weld plastic together with. 45 degrees, 90 degrees and straight

Great shipping and a handy device. Works great for repairing snowmobile hoods and such. Only thing is I’m going to regrind the face of the side cutters so I can trim the staples closer to the material.
