EasyHeat 10802 Freeze Free Cable Connector Kit,Orange

I've installed more heat tapes than I could hope to count. They make a reliable product and I'm confident offering a warranty on my work when using easy heat cable and plug ends,

Easy to use for setting up heat traces on my RV. I bought a 100' of the Easy Heat 2102 cable to go with it. No issues with wrapping and insulating my typical RV water line. Doesn't get too hot and that is a big reason why I went with lower wattage cable. It is pretty easy to cut the cable and attach this power supply. I used Knipex cutters but any decent cutter should work fine. I turn the Easy Heat system on and off with a Johnson Controls thermostat. Overkill but I then know it will last.

This EasyHeat 10802 Freeze Free Cable Connector kit worked great for our new mobile home water-pipes. I ran 75' of the EasyHeat wire on all exposed water-pipes beneath the mobile home. Held them in place with zip-ties, then wrapped the EasyHeat wire with fiberglass foil-backed insulation. Added these end cable connectors and plugged them into a thermostatically controlled outlet. I can sleep much better at night when it's below freezing that my water-pipes won't freeze up. Great product!

A simple method to check your 'build': Assemble according to instructions NOTE that the cable that goes into the orange adapter should be the YELLOW outer sheathing, if you have removed the outer yellow sheathing to get to the black core cable it will not work. With the YELLOW sheathing inserted and the 2 screws screwed down use an Ohm meter to measure the resistance across the two screws you just tightened, the resistance will vary (3000 ~ 400 Ω) depending on the length of the cable. Check between each screw and the AC plug end to make sure the fuse is good. Finish the assembly of the unit then plug it in, you should be able to feel the cord warming up. The light is across the incoming AC but I can't say if it is before the fuse or after it but I now know that there is NOT a thermostat in the orange adapter so you can have it in a heated area and have the cable run outside where it is needed (12°F right now). Also NOTE the END CAP that has gel in it does nothing but protect the end wires from shorting or corroding, it has no effect on the operation of the cable. I took one star off for the instructions not having the above simple procedure to test the install and protect your pipes with a working install. What is 'Sheerness'?

This has been installed and in use for several years now on multiple runs/pipes. No more frozen pipes, no more calling plumber to use the heat gun. Has more than paid for itself in time and money. Set it and forget it. This system is amazing. If you have pipes that are freeze risk, this is the way to go. I put one on every single pipe under the house.
