DT 990 PRO 250 ohm Studio Headphones (Ninja Black, Limited Edition) with 4-Channel Headphone Amplifier Bundle (2 Items)

I love music but I'm not an Audiophile. I've always just settled for the $100 gaming headset because "Whatever". These things completely change everything about how music/games/movies sound. I've certainly been missing out and these headphones are 100% worth every penny. I was initially unimpressed with the build durability, but after having them in my hands long enough, they are definitely a VERY sturdy pair of headphones. Tips: - Let them wear in, took a few hours to get comfortable. - Don't turn up the Amplifier to 100%. (I found my MAX slightly uncomfortable volume with Windows volume at 100%, Amp dial is at 60-70% and I just dial down on my PC volume(Currently my Windows volume is at 36%(YouTube/Movies), super loud, game at like 60% and can hear everything, spacial sound is excellent(CSGO, EFT)). I think the amplifier complaints are people who turned their amp up to 100% and probably blew their headset, or maybe even their eardrums... Build quality on the amp is fantastic, likely pushing enough power to blow your headset so don't go ham). Cons: - Not comfortable at first. They are light, which is good, but the padding around the ears is pretty stiff when new. I've used them for about 100hrs now and they are starting to mold to my head and feel much better. - Shipment comes with 5 1/8" female to 1/4" male adaptors, but no 1/4" female to 1/8" male. You don't really want to go lower on the male end, because of the voltage required to push audio to these headphones, but it would be nice to have just in case the Amplifier decided to stop working. - By design, these headphones are NOT noise cancelling, not really a con, but a note if you are looking to silence your background noise. I can hear the kids like I'm not even wearing headphones at all.

I bought these purely on watching on of the streamer I watch uses them and by far they feel and sound better than anything else I have owned. Right off the bat I was concerned with the headphone amp. And I would be correct. At about a hour of game play my sound output would drop out to nothing but static. It was the onboard sound chip freaking out due to the amp . Also when plugging into it there is a audible pop and then at higher volumes a distinct humming noise. I unplugged the amp and I am going to toss it in the trash! I dont want to have to warranty out a Z690 board due to a cheap amp. Save some cash and buy them with out the garbage amp.

I have been playing music and recording and engineering for decades. I always used closed or in ear headphones to minimize the amount of bleed from headphones to microphones or outside noise / instruments getting into your ear when trying to record. I have been wearing HD280s all day during work days for months. They are heavy. They don't breath. I was amazed at how comfortable these headphones felt. I forgot that I had them on and walked away from my computer several times in the last week. This never happened with the HD280s. I tried to mix recordings with the hd280s and found that the bass was either too high or too low depending on where and how much they sealed. The DT 990s sound consistent and I feel like I can hear is what is coming out of the audio device for the first time. I have several pairs of studio monitors and I feel that these headphones sound more pleasant and are more accurate than any of them.

Headphones by themselves are 5-star. Overall a great set of headphones for pretty much everything. Better than my old Hyper X Cloud 2(3?) which were at a similar price range at one point, so better than any "gaming" headphones you can get audio quality-wise. It was a bit quieter than my hyper x, but I was hoping the AMP solved that. 4 stars since the AMP ONLY has the power adapter and amp. This means it's missing the 1/4 connect to the headphone jack cord, which is an odd thing to skip out on. Don't actually know the quality of the amp itself because of this, had to spend about 10 bucks on a cord for it.

Thes headphones are great I’ve loved them since out of the box, the amp is good quality too nice heavy metal and the rubber feet keep it firm on my glass workstation. The headphones sound amazing and are great quality and it even came with the TRS plug in wire with changeable tips to 3.5mm… this is a great pair idc what the other folks on Here say the value is perfect. I’ll keep you updated if I have any issues but so far, lovin my first day the sound on these is so distinctly different from my Sony MDRs it will Definately help me get a better angle on my productions. Also sounds great for gaming 👌🏼

These are for audio nerds who have a budget, I love mine

I feel like these headphones have taken me to the next level with my mixing. They do take a little getting used to, but after a somewhat short time of using them, I really like the pronounced clarity they bring to my mixing process.

I’ve had these headphones for around 4-5 months and I’ve used them daily. I’ve taken very good care of them, but today the right headphone just stopped working. Now I have to trouble shoot. I will change this review if they fix it for me, but for now I’m pissed. Great headphone, mine just stopped working after 4 months… Edit: So after paying the shipping they fixed the item. Great headset, decent warranty. But really disappointed in the quality of the headset I received.

A lot of people say that these headphones are very harsh, and I can confirm that this is true. Out of the box, the treble is almost painful. Once equalized with the sonarworks EQ software, they sound balanced and are great to use for mixing or listening. Despite the high impedance, they are still loud enough when directly plugged into my laptop. After 3 years these headphones have held up very well, and have handled being thrown around in my backpack, getting dropped, etc. Definetly would buy another pair.

I initially bought these as I was getting tired of the typical gaming headset. These have been a great headset! they are comfortable and they don't slide off my head like my old headset did. Great quality over all.

I am very satisfied. Clear, precise and astonishing sound. Very comfortable, can be weared for a long time. Nice presentation. May need amplification.
