Q: am i suppose to remove the sponge surrounding the razor?

What sponge? Only 2 soap bars surround the razor and they are meant not to be removed in order to ensure a smooth glide on the skin to shave. The soap bars infact when wet will form a thin film on the skin that will make the epilation smooth and safe.

Q: Is this original? I received the Gillette but the box don’t look like the original. Very strange

I wonder as well. When my order arrived, the box did not look original. No branding anywhere on the box. The handle was taped inside the box with a couple razor heads floating around the box. I tried to leave a review but Amazon denied the post.
