Great temperature and humidty sensor
I've had this for 3 years and still works perfectly. The outdoor sensor isn't doesn't sit in the sun but exposed salt air from the ocean, wind, rain and no issues. Still re-charges and connects again.

temp range is in question!! (here is the response from manufacturer)
UPDATE 2: It took a month to get a reply, but they DO respond to email. Manufacturer acknowledged errors in their manuals and help files! Base unit goes to -4F, remotes go to -31F. If temps are lower than that, the display shows "LL", but they could/would not answer whether the min/max temp at the remote is properly stored when the base is below it's spec range.UPDATE 1: No response to email so I called the manufacturer, who said on the phone the temp range goes down to -158F. That's not possible. The PDF manual says -58F. So now I have more inconsistent numbers and no resolution. There's no way to know the min temp this unit can tolerate or be accurate. Lost a couple of stars over misinformation. This website, the manufacturer website spec, and the printed material in the box do not agree on the temperature range this thermometer can handle. The paper version says down to -4F for both remote and base. The manufacturer website spec says -40F for the remote and -22F for the base. The product description says -31F for the remote and -4F for the base. I asked the manufacturer which is the RIGHT set of numbers and I will update this review if they answer. In the meantime, no one really knows how cold it can be and still have this work (or store data). I plan to use this in Montana, where -20F is expected and -30F is possible. Also, reviews indicate that some people are getting rechargeable remote units, but the one I received has AAA batteries for both the TP-63B base and the TX-2B remote. Spare remote (item B0BHQSR2RK) does work with this base, but isn't exactly the same. The spare I ordered has a reset button on the remote, this one does not, both labeled model TX-2B.

Works out in the elements, and has a 9 month battery life on a rechargable battery!
I hung my transmitter on a garden stake outside, near my full-sun uncovered patio. It's about 100ft from my receiver that is inside my kitchen. There is a small hole/hanger at the top of the outdoor transmitter, that I push a zip tie through to hang it from. Because I hang it from the top of it, rain hits it from the top and sides, but the air vents at the bottom stay dry. I also do not "mount" it to anything, and literally just let it hang out in the open, so it dries out quickly on all sides, and there is no moisture trapped between it and a mounting surface or wall. I bought this 9 months ago, and am just now "recharging" the transmitter for the first time. I realized the transmitter battery needed to be recharged when the receiver in my kitchen was reading the indoor temp/humidity, but only had dots for the outdoor temp/humidity. 9 month battery life = pretty impressive. The hardest part about it was remembering where I put the charging cord for safe keeping. In line with other reviews, there is some discrepancy in the accuracy of the reading - but not enough to make a difference for me. I use this to know whether or not it's okay to leave my temperature-sensitive dog outside for the day while I'm at work. I just factor in the possibility of a 5-10 degree F temperature difference. In fall/winter, if its lower than 60 degrees (or maybe 50 degrees if it's not reading accurately), I do not leave her outside while I'm at work. In the summer, if its already 85 degrees, and it's only 7 am (which means it might be 90+ or over 100 that day), I do not leave her outside. But if its reading between 60-85 degrees outside when I leave for work, the dog gets to stay outside and enjoy it. It's not perfect, but it takes some of the guesswork/worry out of it for me.

Avoid the rechargeable version, get the battery powered transmitter
Purchased September 2024, six months later in March 2025 the transmitter is dead. Never exposed to the rain, never got wet. IDK about the other reviews saying the transmitter battery lasts a year, in six months I've already charged the transmitter twice using the SPECIAL INCLUDED CABLE because USB-C charging would be stupid, right? We also have the TP63 on the other side of the house and it works fine with AAA battery transmitter... I would AVOID the rechargeable transmitter version. As a special touch we rec'd a 433mhz transmitter which they no longer make, you can only purchase replacement 915mhz transmitters so after a whopping 6 months of use this entire package goes in the trash.
