Better than the PVC one, and you actually can get a little action off the rim.
So I had one of those old PVC pipe basketball nets like this. It fell apart to the point I could not repair it. My wife got me this as a gift to replace it. It is a bit taller. I am not in love with the ball it came with, a bit heavy and small, still using my old ball. But overall, I like it. Mostly, it doesn't fall apart, the pvc one was a nightmare. I just barely inflate it enough to stand up and use a lighter ball and you can get a little bounce of the rim which is nice. The other day I had a shot sit on the rim for what felt like 2 or 3 seconds before it decided to fall in. It's exciting, and that never happens with hard plastic. It seems to hold air very well. After 2 months, have not had to put air in it. If it has a downside, I would say that it is really light, so in an outdoor pool the wind can really push it around. You could, of course, tether it if you choose. I actually use the included ball as just some weight and keep it in the middle of the lower ring in the water to help a bit. Overall, I like it and I would definitely buy it again over the PVC one. I actually bought a PVC replacement first for my old one and broke the dang thing trying to assemble it.

Love it, definitely recommend
A wonderful water game. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this hoop over a weekend, making up stupid games on how we could score baskets. Easy to inflate (definitely need a needle adapter for your air pump for the ball though!) and stood up nicely in the water. One thing to be aware of, the inner-tube (the part that you inflate and floats) is covered by a fabric-type material (the material is undoubtedly made for the water), this is the part of the picture that has the blue and red pattern design on it. I'm sure this fabric is there for a very very good reason, but my nearly 70-year old dad, kept insisting on dunking into the hoop and ended up somewhat water-logging this fabric. Don't worry, the hoop still floated just fine! It just ended up leaning to an angle as there was probably just too much water in the fabric. If you use the hoop more gently, I don't think you'll have this issue. If you, your family, or friends, insist on yelling, "Lebron James!" and leaping across the pool to slam-dunk, you might end up with a lop-sided hoop like we did. Regardless, I know the hoop wasn't destroyed and once dried out, it will resume normal buoyancy.

Who slam harder, Onyx or Vince Carter?!?!
Yo, if you consider yourself a baller, and you own a pool/frequent your friends pool, then you NEED this. Not only is it fun popping off dimes, turn around jumpers, fade away mid rangers, step back 3's, reverse dunks, tear drops, and finger roll layups, but it's also improved my regular b-ball shooting percentages drastically. Don't get this for your kids, your friends, or husband/wife. Get this for you. You put in the work, and you owe it to yourself to give yourself a gift that will keep on giving long after your gone. I even heard that this was what Vince Carter used to develop a better shot as he got older and stopped dunking so much, and look at him. He's 42 years old. Do it, i dare you.

Great Toy, Bring a Pump!
Bought this for a hotel stay. The hoop was great and super easy to inflate, took a minute maybe less. The ball was the only issue. It needed an actual pump and we didnt know it did. It came with a needle to attach to a pump so I just blew into that and got the ball to inflate about 3/4 of the way and that worked good enough. I would buy this again just make sure to bring a pump!

Quality Pool Toy! Kids Love It!
We almost didn’t purchase this hoop because I thought that it would flimsy because usually you get what you pay for and since this was on the cheaper side I assumed it would be a cheap quality. But, this toy is a great purchase and well worth the cost!!! We have already gotten our money worth from the hours we’ve spent playing and there are PLENTY MORE hours left. This is such a high quality that it allows you to slam dunk very hard on it. Most toys would be destroyed quickly but not this one! I am so glad we chose to purchase this one on the cheaper end. It really is great, anyone who orders this will be completely satisfied

Kids enjoy
2nd one. Last one lasted about six years. Many hours of pool fun. I used a handheld pump to inflate and took no time at all. For basketball I used enclosed pump needle and put on end of handheld electric pump and held in place until inflated (about5 min).

Good Quaility
Good Quality, held up well while traveling. Hard to put back in the box after you take it out. You will need an air pump for the ball, but it comes with a needle.

Lots of fun, but inflatable ball sucks
This is just okay. I stays upright and does it's thing but the ball is crappy. It's all lopsided and shaped like an egg when you blow it up. So it's impossible to throw it straight. For the price it's great just plan on purchasing a different ball before playing. The actual hope you can blow up with your mouth or a pump. The ball needs one of those pumps that you use the skinny pin for.
