Flawless, I Run This All Afternoon with NO Dropouts
I use this on an Altec-Lansing speaker unit that has the 30-pin plug, design for you to sit your old iPhone or iPod on it. That unit sounds really good with its subwoofer so I hated losing the ability to use it with the new iPhones. Popping on the CoolStream is now a dream come true. Connects right up and does what it's supposed to. You will need one of the older 30-pin cables to charge this unit off of any USB port or even the Apple charger, but if you don't have one of those older cables laying around, you can pretty much find those in the impulse aisles for 5 bucks in every store from Walgreens to Ace Hardware, they're all over the place. One thing I want to mention: I had a problem one day where the music would cut out and come back on every 3 seconds or so. That happened with another BluTooth adapter I tried, I thought it was the adapter. Not so, it's the BAD memory management in the iPhone. They only come with 1GB ram, and often most of that gets used up. I have an app that shows available ram and it's usually down to 6-10MB available (not a typo) with only a few apps open. So I cleared my memory, tried playing music again and it worked fine all afternoon. So if you have that issue, close your apps, but the important one is to close ALL PAGES in Safari before you close Safari. If you just swipe up Safari to close it, all of your open web pages stay in memory and eat it up. I'm pretty ticked, $950 for an iPhone 6 Plus with 128GB storage and STILL only 1GB ram? ASpple has no excuse and it's not like they can't afford to up the ram in these things. ANYWAY, this CoolStream is awesome and make sure you have apps closed down once you start streaming with BT and it'll work great.

Great way to connect your smartphone to an iPod Classic dock
I highly recommend this product! Here's why. For over three years, I had been using my iPod Classic with a Bose SoundDock Portable both to relax in the evening and as my morning alarm clock. After several years of faithful service, my iPod Classic stopped working, so I went to Best Buy to find a replacement. Unfortunately, Apple no longer manufactures the iPod Classic, nor any version of the iPod which uses the 30-pin connector that the Bose SoundDock Portable requires. I contacted Bose's customer service department, and the representative with whom I spoke asked if I owned a smartphone. I replied that I had a Samsung Galaxy S5. Bose's customer support representative suggested that I purchase a Bluetooth adapter for the SoundDock Portable and that I use my smartphone's music player as a replacement for my now defunct iPod Classic. He cautioned me, however, to shop carefully for the Bluetooth adapter, as there were several on the market, many of whom were not very good. I did as I was instructed, and found the CoolStream Duo. The CoolStream Duo is very easy to use; just plug it in. My Samsung Galaxy S5 paired with the adapter without any problems, and the standard music player app on the S5 works great. The alarm clock function on the clock app also works. I did have to upgrade the micro SD card I was using with my S5 to one that is large enough to hold my entire music collection, which is greater than 80GB. Even so, I now have the functionality of my old IPod Classic for less than half of what it would have cost to replace it. I also tested the CoolStream Duo with a Klipsch iGroove SXT iPod docking station that I use for travel. Again, it worked flawlessly. Hence, I will be purchasing a second CoolStream Duo for traveling. If you need to replace an iPod Classic, you can't go wrong with the CoolStream Duo and a Bluetooth-capable smartphone.

Best yet!
I have one of the original Sounddocks purchased in 2006, with a serial number starting with 0357. After the 30-pin connectors went by the wayside, I purchased numerous iPod, iPhone, and bluetooth adapters to keep the Sounddock going during periods of its use. Recently we moved to a new house and I set it up in a workout room. When I connected the most recent bluetooth adapter that I had purchased a year or two ago, it was dead. I ordered another bluetooth adapter on Amazon, but the sound quality was terrible (low hum) and it beeped with every track change. I returned it and purchased the CoolStream. The CoolStream's sound quality is excellent with no distortion. The bluetooth connection is easy, and it remains connected. The Sounddock's remote will only change the volume, which has been my experience with other bluetooth devices. I have read that Sounddocks in my serial number series have issues with many bluetooth adapters, this is not the case with the CoolStream. The CoolStream works great and sounds great! I use it with an iPhone 11 and I recommend that you keep the volume on your iPhone at the max, and control volume on the Sounddock for maximum sound quality. I can't speak to battery life, since I only use it on the Sounddock. I do slide the CoolStream's switch to the right when not in use, as recommended to preserve the life of the battery.

Initially I was concerned with the compatibility with my Yahama MCR840 stereo, due to it not being listed on the compatible models, however I can confirm that it works floorlessly with stereo and provides great functionality!
