Punisher: Nightmare Paperback – January 1, 2013

This story shows the past of Frank Castle 's family tragedy in park and fight to overcome his nightmare with toughest opponent he ever faced. It's good story to know more about the Punisher's life history.

I have become a fan of several Marvel characters such as Jonah Hex and the Punisher. Most of these stories are dark in nature, which is expected because the heroes (or Anti-heroes) deal with the worst type of criminals which never seems to end in their search for justice.This one, "Punisher: Nightmare" is one of the darkest stories I have read lately. This tale is not just about Frank Castle, (The Punisher) but also about a Master Sergeant Jake Niman, who experiences the same tragic incident as Frank did losing his family to murderous thugs. This is where the story gets a little confusing because it moves from one time line to the present. Is all this just a bad dream? How will it all end?The story flows quickly from one time to another and keeps going back to flash backs from the war and than moving to the present as Frank Castle and Jake Niman partner up for vengeance against the evil forces that haunt their dreams. This is drawn great and a good story. Since there is no Punisher comic at this time this is a huge life saver for Punisher fans.

Scott Gimple brings a new creative concept to life in Punisher Nightmare. Story involves Frank and two other main characters that all seem to have similar backgrounds. Is the enemy of Franks enemy his friend? Highly doubt it. This story is decent, although I got very confused with the first half of the story. Having to deal with two or three characters and there thoughts at the same time. The art is very well done also. I give Nightmare 3.4/5 stars.

I love the Punisher. Like a lot. So I pretty much buy anything Punisher, for good or ill.That is basically what this purchase was for me.This trade won't change your life, but if you are a diehard Punisher fan, you'll want it in your collection.
