Replacement
I purchased an earlier version of the iron more than a decade ago. In fact my earlier iron still functioned apart from the spray and steam aspects of the iron.Given the lifespan of this earlier iron I opted to replace it with the same style/model. The new iron works very well and in fact it seems that it heats up faster and retains the heating of the iron longer. The quality of the manufacturing of the iron is very good.I am fond of the cordless iron as it allows for uses in any direction. Likewise the pointed end on both ends is particularly useful. The water container holds sufficient water for steaming and spraying your article of clothing. It would be nice if the water container offered a smaller portion of the container for use when ironing just 1 or 2 items--a full container is far too much for smaller ironing amounts. The removable water container makes it easy for filling and/or draining the water when finished. The base is very solid with the retractability of the electrical cord. The slot the iron fits into to reheat itself is easily accessed and the connection seems solid. While this iron's costs may be bit higher than corded irons, I found the quality, lack of a cord on the iron and its overall functionality to be value for the money spent.

Love this iron!
I love this iron. It is much lighter than others I have used. I use it for quilting mostly. It sets my seams easily and without water or starch. It sets my blocks flatter than I have had before. As a clothing iron. It presses out wrinkles easily and quickly. No water spray or starch needed. I am so happy I bought this iron!

Well worth the money.
This iron does really well. Heats quickly and is super hot. My only negative and I don’t really know that it’s the irons fault, is that when ironing fabric that has been starched it does scorch on the iron. So I have to clean it regularly. This could also be my fault because I’m not sure if I’m using too much starch. Either way it doesn’t change me from liking the iron it is awesome and I love that it’s cordless. It does weight a-little more than my old corded iron.

Portable Convenience
Very convenient without having to fight a cord. I would like it to get a little hotter and with a little more steam but both are adequate. Portable carrying case is genius.

Game changer
I’ve been using this Iron for a year now and it’s been a game changer for me. Here is what I like:- no cables: speeds up your ironing significantly.- symmetrical design: allows you to move around your garments in any direction.- heating speed: The iron heats up in seconds.- steam power: The steam is pretty powerful and you can steam vertically too.- water sprayer: the water sprayer works very well too, without needing a separate one that will lower your ironing speed due to constant switching.- power cord: The retractable power cord is really smooth.- carrying case: so easy to install and locks nicely all the time.In summary, every time I use this iron I’m amazed for how much easier it makes my ironing compared to other brands/models I had in the past. Whomever designed this iron has my respect!

Love!
I must live in a cave, I didn’t know they made cordless irons until I saw my friend had one. This iron is excellent, and the water tank pops off for filling! It heats up so fast and I see they improved the on/off switch as the older one was a push button one that wore out. Thanks for a great product!

Bought it for quilting, but not good for general ironing
Why did you pick this product vs others?:After much research on what iron to purchase for my quilting, I settled on the Panasonic Cordless Iron. I was very excited. I will say set up and ease of use ore 5 stars. And if I was just using it for my quilting, I would gladly give it those five stars. However, there were some problems that brought it down to three. First, the auto shut-off. The manual states that the auto-shut off is 10 minutes. My iron was shutting off after a 4-5 minutes of non-usage. This was a bit annoying to have to wait for it to reheat. I am not sure if it was just my iron, ( I would have called customer service, about the problem had not the second problem occurred which made me decide this iron was not for me). Second, When I went to iron several items of clothing the iron didn't retain the heat as well as a corded iron. After two blouses, I had to set the iron back on the charging station, wait a for it to recharge before I could continue ironing again. Conclusion: If I was solely using it for quilting, I would have kept it. But for general ironing, it is a no. Also, I woud question how long the auto-shut off is.
