good switch with unique features, but not perfect
I bought two of these switches specifically to create a secondary wiring center in the machine shop that was exclusively powered by PoE from the main wiring center. There are no power outlets in the secondary location, but I wanted a 100% PoE network anyway. BUT, I still needed PoE downstream of the switches. These Netgear PD/PoE switches fit the bill perfectly.Caveats:- If you want to use downstream PoE from this switch, you MUST power it with dual 802.3at PoE+ connections from your core PoE switch. It'll power up ok with dual 802.3af PoE or a single 802.3at PoE+, but there will be no downstream PoE. I was planning to use a LAG anyway, so no problem, but I was hoping the LAG would provide both link AND PoE redundancy... if a link drops, PoE goes away.- Using PoE+ power on the PD ports, the downstream PoE budget is only 22 watts max, it doesn't take much to use that up.- The web interface works fine, no problems at all, no idea what the other reviews are talking about. The only strange issue that I encountered was when I was putting text descriptions on the ports during operating hours: one of the shop guys comes in and says they're all getting kicked off the network. Every time I saved a port description, it reset the port. No other netgear switch I have does that, I can edit port descriptions all day if I want. Odd.- The web interface times out very quickly and makes you login again. I'm sure there's a setting for that, but I've not located it yet.Overall these things do exactly what they're supposed to do, even if there are some limitations.

Highly recommended by IT Pro
Simple plug and play operation for distribution connections in our new home build. Product was highly recommended by son-in-law, an IT pro... now I know why- this works!

Not new technology - This switch is from 2013
While this switch is technically "new" a quick look at the owners manual or the admin interface will quickly show you that this switch was designed in 2013. Do your homework when buying a Netgear switch if you plan on managing with Insight. This switch says that it supports Insight management, but I have had a lot of trouble getting Insight to communicate with the switch. I have likewise had issues getting other models as new as 2019 to connect to Insight. I have had a support ticket open for about a month with Netgear and still no solution.

and like all switch web UIs
No CLI, and like all switch web UIs, it is awful to use. Works perfectly; currently been up for 163 days in a small and poorly ventilated enclosure with no problems (it has been powered by PoE). The ability to power it via PoE (the reason you would be buying this particular switch) is epic. I have it in a location where a BBU is impractical, but it's where all the drops run to. Problem solved.

"Easy to manage via web-based GUI or Smart Control Center management application for multi-switch deployment"The GUI is a joke and a throw back to the 90s. Most of the time it does not function. Prepare to refresh your browser and re-login constantly when working with this product. Were some the features nice? Yes.The variable POE functions are nice, but at the end of the day the device was not manageable due to it's interface. This could be a nice piece of a equipment if it were not wrapped in a garbage scow of an interface.Did I mention that when connected it would at random times simply stop responding and force you to refresh the browser dumping you back to login prompt and not saving changes?

Everything you might need, and nothing you don’t.
802.3ad (LCAP) link aggregation, multiple VLAN’s, green Ethernet, monitoring, and ongoing firmware updates result in a fantastic switch. Sold as a mid-range office switch, in all honesty this thing should be in every home as a core switch. Works brilliantly setting up 1G fiber using a VLAN to segment Eero traffic. Would highly recommend and challenge you to find a use case this switch can’t solve for. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Home Switch
This is the ideal "home run" switch! It has the ability to supply the ethernet ports throughout my home as well as the POE for outdoor cameras, thus eliminating the need for separate power supplies. It also works for indoor IoT items that utilize POE as well. Again eliminating the need for separate power supplies. I would highly recommend this switch for anyone upgrading or installing a home run!

Netgear Rocks!
This switch is an upgrade from an earlier Netgear 10 port switch. Its located in an unventilated building that gets quite hot in the summer. It works perfectly. The same can't be said for a previous switch that was used in the application from a big company who's name starts with a C. Oh, and the lifetime warranty is a nice touch too.
