Still Very happy and it's been 4 years!
UPDATE: It's now December 2018, and I've been using this same humidifier every winter since I purchased it. I am still very happy with its performance, and everything I originally listed below still holds true. I'm still a very happy customer with a happy cello! One additional Pro, is when the unit goes empty, it of course stops misting, the water level in the clear side strip is depleted, but the unit also has a small silent blinking symbol to let you know it's empty. Very thorough, and easy.👍*Original review*I read many reviews and did my research before deciding on a humidifier. In the end I chose this one and am very happy with it. My main reason for buying a humidifier was to maintain proper humidity for my cello, which is 40% - 50% and a bonus was for my benefit of not having dry air during the winter. I purchased this unit in Nov 2014.Pros;*Display controls are easy to use*Handle (indent in tank) makes it easy to lift tank, groove in unit to help with guiding tank into place*Extender rod with two pivoting directional holes at top, also comes with additional top to direct mist up instead of out and away -this may be a new addition because I read plenty of reviews about the inability to direct mist. I am very happy with the topper that has two pivoting holes. When I need to decrease the amount of humidity directed towards my cello but going down a level in mist output is too low, I pivot one hole slightly to the left and the other slightly to the right and that solves the problem.- I really like the height of the rod to bring the mist out at a higher level*Clear Slit on side makes it easy to see water level in tank*Warm mist or cool - I've read other reviews on this unit about disatisfaction of the warm mist feature. I agree that when you put your hand in the mist that it doesn't particularly feel warm. The manual says that the water at the base of the machine where the mist is produced should be around 80 degrees. After I had mine running I turned it off, removed the tank to check the water there. It felt quit warm to me and I am very happy. The reason I bought a warm mist was because mold growth is common in cold mist. I am happy with the warm mist option even if the mist loses heat as it travels up the tube.*Haven't had any leakage problems - I always make sure that the cap on the bottom of the tank is lined up correctly and very snug. I've read reviews about other machines that have leaked so I'm careful. In addition, I have the humidifier sitting in a clear baking dish for added peace of mind. I have hardwood floors and id rather be safe than sorry.*Night light feature - Very bright (possibly too bright) for bedroom but nice if unit is in a living room or space where a night light is nice to have. Light is easy to turn off. Display light provides less light than night light setting, which is more suited to the amount of light you may want in a bedroom at night.*Has a sleek appearance. I personally think it looks nicer than most humidifiers.*Sound - overall very quiet. When placing a filled tank in position the unit gulps several times to fill the space under the tank, after that the unit gulps once or twice maybe every 30 min on setting two.*Settings - has three settings, which I like for control. Going by memory and not the specifications written in the manual, if I have it on setting one then i typically fill the tank about the 3rd day. Setting two lasts maybe a little over 24hrs. I don't know about setting three because I rarely use it.I like the first two settings the most. The 3rd setting puts off a lot of mist but because the mist becomes heavier from the high output, it seems to not go out far and drops quickly toward the floor. With that said, I haven't seen any condensation or water build up on the floor as a result. If I were to use the 3rd setting more regularly, then I would probably set up a fan on low to move the mist around the room better.Cons;*The internal hygrometer is not accurate. When I researched humidifiers it became clear to me that internal hygrometers generally do not work. Perhaps its too close to the water source, not sure. So, when I compared different units I didnt bother with hygrometers being a pro or a con. I think of it as a setting not used. Knowing that, I planned on purchasing a separate hygrometer. I placed the hygrometer with my cello and can easily adjust my humidifier accordingly.*Night light - if you like to sleep in a dark room then the night light is too bright for you. Yes, you can turn it off but the display light may be too bright too. I feel that you can easily fix this problem by either turning the humidifier so the display is towards a wall, maybe close to wall, or by simply covering the display with cardboard, thick fabric, etc. You could tape/attach item so that it's like a flap, that way you could flip it up to see the screen when necessary.

Loveit
Size does matter when you dont want to refill every day. Works very well. Love the color. Price was better than the big box store, just had to wait a few more days than picking it up next day at local store.

Works fine as cool mist humidifier though small
I ordered this for warm mist because I already had a very large cool mist humidifier. While this one works fine, it only delivers cool mist. If you're looking for warm moisture, this is not it...

Does not last, difficult to clean, too bright for bedroom
Had for 3 months and it won't turn on. Has wrong humidity displayed. Gets moldy, but, you can't clean it. The front control panel light can be used in a light house or airplane landing strip.

Could use some redesign for user health and easy of use
Pros- Controls and parts are easy to understand- Extension tube provides separation between mist outlet and sensing portCons- When needing to refill the tank, you will always get water everywhere around the unit from condensation in the exhaust port through the tank and extension tube. Can't avoid it.....- No turning off the display at night- Humidity reading was underreporting by 7% when comparing it to a Vaisala Nist traceable reference probe, needs a user adjustable calibration offset. This can pose quite a problem if humidity levels go above 50% in a room, you will start getting mold growth. So this is very IMPORTANT. On that note, you should not be able to set it above this value for the point of mold. 35-50% should be a limited safety range.- Can't set a value below 40%, which at current is at odds with the above.- Warm Mist setting doesn't do much other than waste electricity, doesn't seem to affect rate of humidification in a space one way or another. Makes the reservoir basically a bacterial incubator without a bactericide added for ever fill.Final ThoughtsIt's an OK unit but needs some addressing in a few areas and some functions trimmed that don't add value.Another note on those thinking of non-demineralized water: As an experiment I want to show you what happens when using tap water in any amount. Tank was 2/3 full of distilled and the rest filled with tap. The attached photo in my office space shows all those dissolved compounds get airborne as extra fine particles you get to breath in. If you know anything about pm2.5 size particulates you would do well to not do this and stick to RO or distilled for anything other than a wick type humidifier. It's not worth the mess or the impact on your indoor air quality. Do yourself a favor and buy a tabletop distiller or two.

No Complaints Yet!
I read a lot of the reviews and looked at many other humidifier reviews before purchasing this one. I have had it running for one day so far, and will post more feedback later. The unit is virtually silent, even with the fan on high. The mist is so fine, it doesn't get your hand wet when waving it through the mist. I have it sitting on a flat glass table in my kitchen, and there is no wetness forming anywhere. It has a little cap to place on the top where the mist comes out, so you can directional where the mist flows, it separates it into two mist streams (basically some goes left, some goes right). Some reviewers wrote about the display being too bright, but I don't find it to be crazy bright. At night, I turned off all the lights to see what everyone was talking about...but really, it's not much brighter than your stove clock display. Also some people wrote about it glugging every 5 or 10 minutes...I have not heard it glug once yet. I have had it running for 24 hours without refilling it. The humidity reading started at 28 for me, and today it is up to 32. I have a 3 story townhouse, 1,800 square feet. I am really hoping it to humidify the central part of the house which is probably 900 sq. ft. My only cons are that this product does not specify how many sq. feet it works best with, and, the unit is not exactly white. It is pinkish white. I thought maybe I was sent the wrong color, but I guess in the right light it looks white.

Then your gas furnace or gas elements burn the sodium which is evidenced by the usual blue gas flame turns yellow - normally a sign of poor combustion. The manual fails to mention this situation
This product works well as advertised. But we learned the hard way that you cannot use Ultrasonic type humidifiers if you heat and/or cook with gas and use softened water. It the process of softening water heavy metals are exchanges for sodium ions. The ultrasonic humidifier shakes water to turn in into a mist. The sodium ions in softened water are also put in the air. Then your gas furnace or gas elements burn the sodium which is evidenced by the usual blue gas flame turns yellow - normally a sign of poor combustion. The manual fails to mention this situation. The only ways to use an ultrasonic type humidifier, in a house with open gas flames, is to used unsoftened water OR get water from a reverse osmosis filtering system. The first means more cleaning of the humidifier. The second means using expensive water.
