This is the second of these I have purchased. This is an absolute must for anyone that does network runs.I’m generally old school and typically use standard toning, but in a pinch and true wtf situation the intellitone feature can be nice. It’s range it’s greater than standard toning and will function even when hooked to a switch.If you are new to telco punching and never used a standard toner before, you may think that this isn’t a good product. I urge anyone that is just starting out to give themselves a few jobs with the device before leaving a review.Also keep in mind that this does not do certification. It does however verify you have end to end connectivity and will tell you if anything is crossed.One other review comments that it’s not accurate for measuring length. I would argue that it’s only an approximation of length based on the twists that it detects in the wires. It’s almost always going to be a few feet off.This was my first time buying this kit rather than just the tool. I needed a punch and assorted tools for a new job. My first fluke branded punch down tool. It’s pretty great!

Good kit. Just be aware that this will not verify the speed/bandwidth of a circuit. It only tells you what a device (switch, router, etc.) on the other end is advertising the devices capability (10,100,1000)

This kit is the BOMB! Everything I need in one nice carry-all bag. Perfect!

This Microscanner 2 would be great if it was $129. I would not complain about the price, except that it lacks one very important function. It does not test BER. Bit Error Rate. So you can test to see if the conductors are working, but you can not test the wire to see if it will pass Gigabit or fast ethernet data successfully. Even my $200 Pockethernet will do BER and everything this unit does plus much more.

The toner broke after using on one job. Wasn't abused, took out batteries and put back in it's case where it sat for a year before being used again. Wouldn't sound tones or indicate. Of course the warranty expired by then
