Works really good.. great..

Handle and blade
Handle is somewhat flimsy but you don't really hold it. Also the blade is fine out the box but could use some sharpening from my experience

Decent edge on GD is possible but it's not comparable to a quality razor and will take hours honing
You can probably get a decent edge on the (absolutely NOT 'Shave Ready') gold dollar but it will take hours and comparing it to an high quality steel razor show it's not nearly as good despite the endless work... (in pictures the before (up) and after honing) I think a vintage blade will give back a much much better return on the time and money you will invest, the metal in the gold dollar is not of the best quality, (no idea what in there actually.. and imo any random silverware metal is better steel) the grinding is in lack of any standards. .... Even if the goal is just to experiment with honing .. it is very different from an quality razor, on the other hand the rather soft (yet buffed) metal allows more flexibility in reaching the goal... but again, if you will compare it to a vintage razor with an probably almost set bevel (more or less...) and a 'real' steel.. and interesting grinding (like wedge, real smiling edge) the vintage will be much more fun and useuful

Very pleased
I just recieved this this morning so I dont have a shave report yet. Was very pleased to see that the seller had already corrected the issues with the heel and stabilizer that these razors are known for. As this is my first real straight I wasnt sure if that was a task that I was ready to do my self thankfully I dont have to worry about it. I did shave a spot on the back of my hand and it did just as good a job as my Parker SRW with a fresh blade so I am confident that it will give me a great shave. I will update this tomorrow with a shave report.I only gave 4 stars as I have not shaved with it yet, but so far I am very pleased

Delivered with chip and is dull
It looks like the blade was previously damaged and it was ground, honed and stropped, but it wasn’t ground down enough, there is a visible chip in the blade, and it’s dull. The blade won’t cut anything with the ‘arm hair test’. I’m going to have to hone it

great blade!
totally surprized by the quality of the blade. easily honed, extremely effective and for the price you'd be hard pressed to find something better. the handle is crap plastic but you get a blade worth much more

There are better straight razors out there.
Good enough for a collector's item, but cheaply made. You could snap the handle scales just by squeezing them. Did not come shave ready. It's good enough to cut rope, but will need some work before actual shaving.

Recomend it to anyone looking for a decent cheap straight razor
This razor was just as described. It was shaving sharp right out of the box. The handle is a little flimsy but no complaints. if handled properly should outlast me.
