Remote came broken they sent a new one.
I purchased this after learning that the other mini split air-conditioner I purchased was going to require some expensive electrical work. I decided to go with something you can just plug in. So far its working great. I have it synced up to my Alexa and can turn it off and on with voice commands. I did receive a remote that had a damaged screen but the seller provided a new one for no charge or paperwork, I just emailed them and they sent the new one out. This type of air conditioner is all inside so it will be loud I have never owned this type before so I can't compare the noise level to other units but be prepared for some noise to me it is worth the noise for the money I saved and the cool AC.

Not Worth It
I bought this to upgrade from a 12000btu to a 14000btu unit. First things first- my 8 year old 12k unit was far more effective than this 14k one. I was hoping it would be more quiet, but it’s just as loud. Other things- be prepared to empty the water tank every other day. It’s an incredible pain to drop so because the drain is nearly flush with the bottom, so you’ll have to raise it up onto something just to drain out the 2 cup capacity that shuts down the AC function. Really annoying. Also, the thermoatat doesn’t seem to kick in until it wants to. I can set it to AC to 70 degrees with an ambient temp of over 80 and it still won’t kick in for up to 20 minutes after turning it on. It will also switch between AC and fab way too frequently once it thinks it has hit the goal temperature (ambient is always much higher). I’m talking every 3 minutes back and forth. It seems like this was well designed with positive features but was never vetted out for how well they actually work. I can’t speak to the app side of things because I was so disappointed that I never bothered to install it. I will be returning this. I would say that you should spend a bit more and get a more reliable unit, but it honestly isn’t any cheaper than good reliable brands. Also, I’ve never written a negative review before so hopefully that adds some gravity to just how poor this unit is for the money.

Relatively quiet, efficient cooling, easy to install.
This unit was very easy to install in a vertical sliding window. In fact, I remove it daily since I live in the midwest and we're in the middle of nearly daily rainstorms. It quickly and adequately cools my 14' x 15' bedroom, even when I have the fan at low speed.I can hear my television over the quiet low speed fan, but when the compressor comes on I have to turn the volume up a bit more. This is nothing more than a minor annoyance.Sleep mode is actually the fan at its lowest speed. The noise level is the same as a unit in a nice hotel room. I haven't been able to connect it to my Alexa unit yet, but I'm troubleshooting it with Amazon. Overall, I am very happy with this unit.

Do not use dehumidifier mode!!!
The air conditioner side works great! The noise is a little higher than a box fan. We never once had to empty the tank until one day and that’s when it all went downhill...It was an extremely humid day and the unit is in the attic converted into bedroom. We decided to turn on the dehumidifier to see how well it worked. The machine turned off within an hour stating the tank was full. We followed all the instructions and emptied the tank...barely any water in it.Followed tech support to empty again (this time nothing), let the machine sit unplugged for a few hours, run on fan for a few hours and it should reset. No luck. Now we cannot use the app as it constantly says the tank is full. We can manually turn it on and off but the only reason we got this machine was for the app abilities.Tech support said we could send the machine in for maintenance but must have all the original packaging and box...not gonna happen**UPDATE 12/5/19**After some back and forth with tech support, they said any box would work to return and they would send a prepaid shipping label for return. Here’s to seeing how the repair/replacement process goes!

It actually works
I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this for my garage shop during a humid heat wave in July. I have the 14,000 BTU unit, which I believe is the largest AC unit available at 115v. It is undersized for my garage (almost 900 sq ft with 11' ceiling), but by golly, it manages to keep the temp about 75 degrees even when outdoor temps were about 90 degrees. I can't complain....knowing that I'm pushing it far beyond its design features.I would give it five stars if not for a few nagging issues. The dehumidifier function REALLY works, but the tank fills in 30-45 minutes. I know it's working because the unit turns off and I drained about 16 oz of water each time. Thinking I might be able to drain it like my basement dehumidifier, I rigged a new plastic hose with a store bought fitting designed for the hose, attached it to the lower drain hole, and fired up the dehumidifier function. (The drain line that comes with the unit is useless and does not fit the drain hole fitting. ) Oddly, the water continues to fill the tank and triggered the automatic shutoff, even with my drain line attached. The unit was elevated; so the drain line had gravity working for it. Nice try on my part, but no deal.Even with that small irritation, I'd still recommend the unit for a small shop or home. It's attractive, not too loud, and really puts out cool air.
