Looks great on my Tri Glide!
This rack looks great on my Tri Glide. The service from Leather Up was above normal. Received in two days. All parts were included and the instructions for installation were good. I have to admit that drilling holes in my trunk to install made me queasy. The old saying measure twice and cut once didn't do it for me. It was more like measure 40 times and drill once. Honestly scarred the heck out of me! My wife's cloth tape measure from her sewing kit worked the best but with all the curves on the trunk you still only get real close. One thing that happened for me was that the threads on the rack were not 100%. I believe that after the chroming process the threads somehow were coated too much and the bolts would not go in on two of the racks posts. I had a 1/4 inch 20 tap and cleaned out all the threads and it worked fine after that. Had to enlarge one hole a smidge to get the right angle. Two people would of been better when tracing the post's location on the trunk. Kinda hard holding the rack exactly were you want it and drawing on the masking tape but maybe I'm just not coordinated enough!

Second Purchase
My second purchase, has extra loops for attaching items, can get a matching tourbag, value much better than Harley Davidison. Well built.

Nice rack!
Yeah I had to say it. Nice rack.I'm using it to support a T-Bags Dakota bag. It's big and wide and straps down very nicely to this rack. The fitment, looks and function are all top notch on this rack. Although it sort of broke my heart to drill into the virgin lid of my EG, I knew it had to be done. Make sure you read the mounting instructions before you dive in or you could be sorry. It probably took me as long to choose precisely WHERE to mount the rack than it took to actually mount the thing. You'll be using blue masking tape to protect your paint from chipping when you drill. You'll also want to put it as close to the passenger backrest as reasonably possible. I recommend you take your time and pay attention to what you're doing. I saw a EG cruising down the freeway in San Jose and he had his rack mounted backwards! I don't know I'd have ever noticed unless I had installed my own but you don't want the narrow lip in back.I used my hands like a pair of matching spacers to determine proper center and distance from the seat-back. Sounds kind of funny but because the lid is contoured and rises and dips, measuring tapes aren't as accurate as using both hands as measuring tools. I did however use a tape measure for a sanity check after plotting my points. The blue masking tape keeps you from chipping your paint and it also reduces creep from your spinning bit. If I had to do it all over again I'd likely have fashioned a method for steadying my initial pilot holes. The pilot hole is of course needed but even with the smaller bit, I did get a slight amount of travel across the tape and my holes were not perfect, that pilot hole is where your fatter bit will center upon so make it count. To look at the end result, you'd notice no flaws, but one of the holes crept slightly and I had to side-bore the final hole slightly to join the final bolt. The washers cover this small mistake and it was so very slight but I mention this hoping you don't end up doing the same. Finally the first thing you'll notice once mounted is "dang this lid is heavy!" Also understand there is a weight limit to the lid and the fact that you don't want a lot of weight in back but I have to say, I'm pretty sure my bag and it's contents were in the neighborhood of 25 lbs and all was good.

Must have to the Touring Pak
This is a must part for the Harley Davidson tour pak. Great looking and sturdy put together part, nothing was left undone on this outstanding addition to the Harley touring. I highly recommend this to all riders that can add to their rides.

Looks good, quality good, install tougher than Harley model, similar price.
For factory Harley tour pack you are better off buying the Harley edition because indents in bottom of lid line up for drilling, not so with this Product, it is a nice product, but harder to install, I sent it back. Although it may be great for you.

Nice, good look, good fit.
Ordered this rack based on other reviews and my experience with Kuryakyn products. The mounting posts came with plastic covers which made nice with the rough fit and setting it down while working with it. Once I got a rough idea of where I wanted it, a few strips of painter's tape on the trunk made it easy to fine tune the measurements without scratching anything. I found that having someone hold the rack as close to the trunk as possible made it easier to thread the mounting bolts. Only thing that was unexpected was rust inside the front posts. Once I tapped and cleaned up the threads, mounting went smoothly. Nice looking, not so big as to look bulky, and the eyelets at each corner are a plus for bungee cords.

Add this to protect your TourPak.
Added this to my removable TourPak for my RG Special. Very easy to install, make sure the TourPak is on the bike. Much easier to make sure it’s positioned correctly.

Great rack!
This is the one you want, trust me. Make sure you measure twice and tape where you are drilling. The hardest part is putting 4 holes in your perfect beer box. It's worth it.
