I'm underwhelmed
I bought these scissors to replace a pair from my 40-year-old college dissection kit, which I had been using for personal grooming (which had the tip damaged in a fall). The Iris scissors are not the equal of the old scissors. They are 3/32 in. shorter than 4-1/2 inch, while the old scissors are 3/32 in. longer than 4-1/2 inch. They have a cutting length that is 6mm shorter than the old pair. The Iris scissors have finger holes that measure a few crucial mm smaller, and which are cocked at an odd angle. I am a skinny male of 5'9", and the scissors are barely and awkwardly usable due to these goofy finger holes. The Iris scissors will cut a piece of light yarn near the tip, or near the hinge, but not in the center of the cutting area.See my photo to better grasp what I have written.

Don't waste your money
I bought these because I needed a good pair of sharp scissors to remove skin tags. I tried to cut 3 different skin tags and it didn't cut any of them! I used a different pair that I had bought before this pair but thought this one would be better, and the other pair cut so nice. I would not buy these for any surgical. They barley cut paper so not sure if I would use them for gauze even.

Insanely dull, so disappointed
I had an older pair that I e had forever and i have no idea where i got them but they were amazing until i lost them. They cut through anything and were razor sharp, despite how flimsy they felt. These new ones feel really strong, however, they are insanely dull and really wont work effectivly for much more than cutting paper. I am so disappointed. I mean these are supposed to be surgical scissors they should cut the skin if I tried but there is no way it would iven so much h as scratch it

Great for Crafts, Workbench
Would I use these surgical scissors for surgery? Uhh, no. But then I am not a surgeon either! But for the workbench, home craft kit or even your bug-out bag, these are useful and feel OK in the hand.No need not go into construction details as these are what they are: Economical scissors. They are sharp enough but I cannot attest as to how long they will hold this sharpness.I am glad I bought them, think the price was right and if they dull or become damaged I can toss them into the trash without losing sleep over it.

Sharp, and they do cut but....
These are sharp scissors but the quality of the scissors is a bit low, they are little flimsy at the hinge, and rough edges everywhere like they skipped the finishing stage, just cut blanks smacked em together and thats it. I bought another pair with gold handles way better quality come with serial numbers and all. Threw these scissors in my toolbox...

OK, not great
I needed a precision tool and this is not it. The blades do not line up properly when they are closed, the edges are rough, the finger holds are uncomfortable. But yes, they do cut things so I guess depending on your needs these operate as advertised.

Ok for the price.
The scissors are nice and sharp. I would rate higher except that I had a previous pair made by a different manufacturer that had thinner tips making it easier to get into smaller spaces. I prefer the tips thinner.

Perfect for arts and crafts.. not perfect for dental surgery
I really like these sensors but they are not the same as the Patterson Dental or hu-friedy scissors that I'm used to. I worked in a dental office and the scissors there were much sharper and the center joint of these are not as tight but they were perfect for my arts and crafts projects
