Five stars until it breaks. . .
I waited eight months to write this review. I have to agree with the one AND five star reviews. The belt worked fantastic from day one. No problems pairing with my iPhone 5. The 60 Beat software was perfect for my alternating cardio and strength training days. Five stars! Then at the six month mark, as with other users, I started to get the 240 BPM readings, and that was when it would work at all. Fixing broken junk is my biz so I decided to crack it open.I was surprised at how easy it was to breach the shell- twice around the plastic seam with a Stanley knife was all it took, and the ends were not really sealed at all. The circuit board connects to the side rubbers through two connections- one metal to metal and one metal to rubber. The metal to metal connection is the weak point. The contact tension is not that strong, so coupled with the lack of complete sealing the contacts got slightly corroded and stopped working. I cleaned them, increased contact tension, taped the shell back up and it works like new for two months now.I would not recommend this product to swimmers! I would not recommend this to anyone who will be soaking their shirt during a workout 3 or more times a week. There are more professional HR monitors for the very athletic. The manufacturer needs to build a more robust unit with better internal connections and a shell that completely seals in production.

Doesn't work with recent android
Update: According to everyone leaving feedback for the app this absolutely does not work with newer versions of Android. The seller lies and sends you an email saying it does, them Amazon's abysmal customer service refuses to acknowledge that they sold it and refuses to send you a return label.I'm not sure how to stop buying from third party sellers so I am quitting Amazon. The program looks to be ported from iphone or older android and you get the message, "this was designed for older android and may not work."Also Instructions and web site really bad at Engrish.

Purchased this to work with Runtastic Pro on my Android ...
Updated review changed to 2:The unit does not work very often and when it does it gives wild numbers that I verified were wrong other heart monitors. Went ahead and ordered a Wahoo TICKR for twice the price after seeing such great reviews. It would really help if the unit had some light that let you know if it was on or not. But ultimately it should just work every time and not require fiddling with every time. I gave up using after it wasted much of my workout time. ;-/Original Review was rated 4*Purchased this to work with Runtastic Pro on my Android phone and works very well. With the Runtastic app you just pick Bluetooth Runtastic HR Combo Monitor and it will find your unit. You cannot pair this with your phone, that is not the way to connect it to Runtastic Pro.Note: You may have to Cancel and reconnect it sometimes though when you start a new session.

works like a champ
This paired with my iPhone 5S with no problem, and it's technical function seems as good as any. Anyone who can't get it to pair either doesn't know what they're doing, or they have a dead battery. I've confirmed operation with every running app I have found for my phone. Wet the back of the strap, put it on, and it automatically turns on, just like every HR monitor out there. To comment on the physical aspects of the monitor, the strap consists of about 8 inches of rubber across the front, with the sensor embedded in that, and an elastic strap that goes around your back and attaches, with clasps, to the rubber on both sides. I don't like the clasps at all. The clasp is a little plastic spade-shaped thing that slides into the rubber in such a way that it could stretch or tear the rubber over time. Polar's clasp is a hook that slides through a loop, which is much easier to deal with. The sensor is not removable from the rubber piece. If the rubber ever rots or gives-way, you're screwed. Polar's strap goes all the way around your body, and the device snaps to the strap -- it is a superior design. I will say the straps are equally comfortable -- and this one might even be a bit more comfortable, because it's held in closer to your body and has less bounce. Also, the rubber really grips your chest, so you have zero sliding with this one.In conclusion, it's not as high quality as the polar hr monitors I've seen, but considering that it was a mere $30 as opposed to polar's $50, it seems well worth the savings, assuming it doesn't break in the next year.

Garbage
Strap is comfortable and adjustable. Runs on a coin cell battery and will supposedly last over a year. Automatic on/off. Pretty simple and straightforward. I like not having to recharge another device. Not many Android devices support Bluetooth Low Energy, and not many Android apps support it, either. Runtastic Pro is so far the best app I've found that works with this device. The non-pro version of the app can't connect to sensors. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon, toro), running CyanogenMod 10.2 (Android 4.3).Update: like many other reviewers, mine died for no reason. No physical damage, just stopped working. It's like they put a timeout to force you to buy a new one.

Eccellente fascia cardiofrequenzimetro.
