Had my doubts but....
I was wondering why no one ever bothered reviewing this product just about ANYWHERE. I usually Google reviews for products before any purchase but I couldn't find any for any of the Samsonite Fieros. I bought it anyway and I don't regret it.This is the first hard-case luggage I have ever owned and simply put, it's durable. I went on an International flight recently (waited 'til my arrival before reviewing), 1 domestic stop and 2 international ones, and this hard-case luggage help up quite nicely in the end. It's not entirely scratch-resistant as it claims to be but the gashes it took upon transfers form port to port doesn't make the hard-case look bad at all. In fact, you can hardly tell its there. Which is good.I may update the review if anything else happens to it in future use. But for now, I give it 5 stars!

Perfect size!!!
I love this piece of luggage!! I have used it for two trips so far and waited to see if I really continued to like it so much. First, the size - it's just one size larger than a carryon but still easy to handle like the smaller carryon size. Also light weight and even when it's filled easy to handle especially with the great spinner wheels. Then inside- so easy to pack and repack.. Love the see through zippered compartment, the garment strap also leaves plenty of room for hanging garments to be added after putting in folded garments. I have had many large and small pieces of luggage and this one is the best by far! Love it!

A hunting I shall go....
I bought this suitcase because of the color, size and the weight, and the price sealed the deal. I still love the color -it's not the normal colored suitcase the comes off the carousel- and I still love the weight -the bag is super light by itself, so you can pack it and pretty much not go over the weight limit of the airlines- but here are the things that would stop me from buying another one.1. The texture of the bag is easily damaged. The first time I used it, it came back to me with a ton of scratches.2. The wheels. Yes, four wheels is a blessing! But this bag's wheels don't fully cooperate when there's stuff in the suitcase. Not too bad on smooth surfaces, but try maneuvering through a carpeted hotel.... argh.I did forget to mention, that I love the fact that you can expand this suitcase and that it has a TSA combo lock built in. But the two fore mentioned facts were the buzz kill for me.Still on the hunt for a perfect suitcase....

Corner caved-in and lock was broken
Out of the box the lock mechanism was broken and it wouldn't lock after setting the code. Unfortunately it was to late to get a new one so I used it on a trip from NY to SF (non-stop).After you fill-it up with clothes (mine weighed about 32 lbs.) you will notice that the handles are very flimsy and because of the very poor design they will stretch the luggage when pulling. I was very afraid that it will fall apart when handled by the airport personnel. Luckily it didn't however when the luggage arrived I noticed that one of the bottom corners (along with the wheel) was completely caved in.This luggage is made with the cheapest and poorest plastic I have ever seen. It's very weak and I have no idea how Samsonite can put their logo on such an item.Completely disappointed and I returned it to Amazon as soon as we got back.

Great size, have travelled round the world with this
I've waited to review this to take it out for a spin. I have the 20" version and use that as a hand carry/overnighter. This luggage has travelled the world already, got lost in Istanbul and then still found it's way back after a week. It's been through all sorts of carriers as well.Pros: It extends if you need more room. If you don't overstuff it, you can wheel it away easily and won't need to pay the ostentatious $5 airport cart. Very light and material is almost scratch proof - not quite. Love that it has a side handle that helps you yank it out of the conveyor belt easily and the built it TSA lock is a big plus so no more of the silly, independent padlocks. Inside lining is great, you have a mesh net that keeps half part of the luggage organized. With airline restrictions on weight, this is perfectly sized so it is a structured control not to bring too much :). Unless of course, you are bringing bricks or super duper heavy items. I've never been overweight with this luggage, even it its extended form. This suitcase has kept some breakable items secure (I have brought glass, ceramic and wooden items using this luggage).Con: The handle is quite slim. I'm surprised it hasn't given up on me. I compared the handle to the 20" version and believe it or not, the smaller version had a sturdier handle!

Simple, rugged and despite its averaged sized appearance, i fit my car inside it :-)
It's simple, but seems super strong/durable after its first flight, and the best thing is it's like a black hole - it has a huge capacity despite its appearing to be of average size. I stuffed it with more luggage than anything before it and still had some room left over. Wheels are fine, handle is fine, a quibble: the lock is functionally upside down**. By that i mean the side you -really- want to have on the bottom when you open it makes the combination upside down. For a company that only makes luggage, it's sloppy design. But having said that, it works really well.** Footnote: For those who want the details, there are 2 compartments, the smaller one has a webbed, zippered cover, and the large compartment is open. You want to open it with the large open compartment on the bottom, otherwise if it was on the top, everything in that compartment would fall out as you opened it. If you want the lock combination right side up, then you have to have the large compartment on the top, hence the problem.

Easy mobility but no pockets inside or out!
Easy to move with spinner wheels. Samsonite 24" suitcase will travel well for airline check-ins, but I miss having external and internal pockets for extra storage of smaller items like underwear and socks! Not sure how durable the outer surface will be. It looks different in design from the 20" one recently ordered and received, so it doesn't even look like a matched set...disappointing but it's likely they'll not travel together often.

Great suitcase that is lightweight
Purchased this suitcase for a trip to Europe and it was perfect. The weight of just the suitcase is almost nothing. This helps for longer trips where you need to lug your suitcase around. The wheels held up no problem including getting beaten up all over the cobblestone streets of Europe. I highly recommend this suitcase.

Light and sturdy suitcase.
Perfect fit for a european vacation. Very light, seems very sturdy. We also purchased the Samsonite Winfield 2 luggage, and I prefer the organization separators in that model, but the Fiero still gets the job done. Another minor minus is to be expected with this hard shell cases, no front pockets, so you need to open it up to get to anything. My wife is a big fan of the colour, myself less so. Will definitely notice it on the luggage carousel.

good for the price
I've tested this 3 times now, just for shorter trips within the USIt's nice, easy to navigate around and the texture is pretty scratch resistant. It looks professional and durableI was afraid the wheels are very whimsy and will break, so far all good after 3 flights

Great sturdy luggage
I've only used it for two trips so far and have excellent so far. the hard shell feels extra sturdy than my old Heys one and they really maximized the space on the inside, so I felt it can store more clothes than my old medium luggage
