Great Small Air Condition Unit for the Price
Great price for a small air conditioner unit. Cools a small space in a short time. Quiet but still has some noise. Fits perfectly in my window and easy to install. No remote but switches work just as well.

Small, quiet, efficient.
Installed in a 400 sqft cottage on Cape Cod. Fit the bedroom window which only has a 11 inch high window opening. Hard to find a 5000 btu with a height less than 12 inch height. No remote but not imporant to me. Blowing cool air upwards in a small bedroom allows the cool air to settle without blowing directly on a sleeper seeming more like convection. Great for those HHH nights that disturb the normally cool ocean breezes.

Good unit lasting a surprisingly long time in harsh conditions. Fan can stop when on low
Made it not quite 3 years in very harsh conditions. I use it in my small shed, activated by humidity. So, the air is always full of gasoline and chemicals in there. It keep humidity down to nothing rusts or rots in my shed. I gave it 4 stars because the fan stops sometimes if the outside part gets stuff in it when on low speed. That's a little annoying. But, it is not dehumidifying well anymore and the temperature is rising on the output, so the refrigerant is leaking out. It was so inexpensive and a good unit. I will buy it again. It's nice and small to fit my shed window. I like that the controls are basic and simple so that I can use my dehumidistat with it.

Cools my 250sf room just fine.
Works much kbetter than expected. My central ac died for the umpteenth time. Decided to try 2 window units instead. The 5000btu unit cools my 250sf bedroom and adjoining bath very well. I bought the 6000btu unit for the 900sf living rm/ dining rm/ kitchen area where I spend most of my time. Between the window unit and the ceiling fan, I've never been uncomfortable. There are 2 other unused bedrooms in the house; I just keep those doors closed. Seems like a much more economical way to keep my living space cool. Outdoor temp has not gone over 100 yet this summer, but plenty of days in the 90's.

It fits a 11β tall window with locks taken off. Nice love it
What a great AC unit with is. My windows only open up to 11β tall & i took the locks off & this 11β unit fits perfectly. The sound is good helps us sleep @ night. Not too loud.. The only thing i would recommend is a remote control. Otherwise this unit is good LG thanks :-)

Gets my shed super cold!
Ordered this thinking it was gonna be smaller. Actual dimensions are 12 inch tall 17.35 inch wide, and 14.5 inch deep incase anyone wants to know. Gets my 12x16 insulated shed very cold! Down to 63 after 1 day. I keep it on low and setting 6 to keep it around 73 when itβs in the mid 80s outside. The shed is insulated walls and ceiling with r13 fiberglass, inside is 3/4 plywood on the walls, floor is not insulated at all.

Customer support forth this unworking unit stinks
Customer service for this stinks. I ordred two of them one worked one did not. Tried to rturn it to Amazon and they sent me to LG the same day and the contact there had me do all sorts of testing and told me to wait a week. I did and it still did not work. Compressor and fan were on but it did NOT cool any air at all. The contact this time had me do all the same things as the first one and then the said they would send a tech out. The tech cam, did all the same tests and told me it would not cool the room. I told him it doen't cool at all. His answer was weel, it isn't doing what it is supposed to do. He said they would get back to me on what to do with it, and it's been over a week and I have not heard anything. Amazon is refunding me 80% of the cost and I found a second hand one for now. I would not order from this company again.

Wonderful AC let down by HORRIBLE side panels
This was the only AC unit that would fit in the space between my window and the security bars over them (this unit has the smallest depth on the outside of the window of any AC). It works well and beggars can't be choosers since this is the only one that would fit, but the side panels simply do not extend wide enough to fit basically any window ever. This would be fine if LG made larger side panels you could buy separately (the side panels form the groove on the top of the unit the window sits in, so there are no compatible side panels or indeed any possibility of replacing them unless LG decided to make it for this model.... PLEASE LG I WILL PAY AN ARM AND A LEG), or if there were better after market options (those "insulated" foam side panels are a waste of time), but the fact is I have been forced to stuff old towels and clothes into the space between the side panels and window frame, and it is as drafty and visually unappealing as you might imagine (though still not as drafty as the "insulated" foam panels). I guess I am going to have to somehow build a frame out of wood to cover the empty space since I cannot find any other options that actually work. Why make the side panels so narrow in the first place!!!????? It is honestly baffling to me, this AC would be perfect if it could extend wide enough to fit my *tiny* window. I cannot believe that 99% of residential windows are small enough to work. If you don't have the same space restrictions I do (the bars outside of my window limiting external depth to less than 10 inches max), then you should probably look for another option unless your room has the world's smallest windows. If you do have bars outside of your window, this unit is probably going to be the only one that will fit and you're going to have to jerry-rig a solution to all the empty space this leaves on the sides for normal bedroom-sized windows. Even if the side panels were wide enough, the way they are constructed leaves very noticeable drafty gaps where they meet the actual unit, which would lead me to look for a diy replacement regardless because the gaps are more drafty than the clothing and towels I have taking up the empty space to the sides. Wonderful AC, *HORRIBLE* side panels.
