Thermo Tec 12001 Black High Heat Coating 12 oz

I purchased this heat paint as recommended for exhaust wrap sealant from the elements and helps prevent the heat wrap from wearing down. I have used it on other exhaust components, pipes& motorcycle engines. Works good !

Followed the instructions on the can. Painted my exhaust heat wrap 2 years ago and they are still water proof and black.

Good stuff. Looks great after about 3 coats. Kept my wrap on my headers good for a long time, and didn’t come off for a while. So it’s pretty strong. Sprayed on well too.

Coating applied per instructions and functioned basically as described. There is a noted difference in temps of coated and non- coated sections of wrap - a surprise, Works better than I thought it would. The only problem I can foresee is that black will show mud and dirt fairly badly. Silver would be a better color for that reason alone. Would also be a better "match" to the polished SS exhaust piping. Therefore, four stars; silver would have made five. Took a little longer to "burn off" than expected - also a surprise - and produced quite a bit of smoke. Three ladies waved me down to advise my car was "on fire!" That alone was worth the cost of the coating; what a hoot!

After multiple heat cycles and burn off. It’s still black. I recommend

Wrap the headers, spray on, and try not to move the wrap when installing the headers.

After installing my heat wrap, this is the product needed to keep that wrap black.
