Book was as described. It was fresh off the presses and arrived a day ahead of shipping date.

I got my autistic son interested in armored fighting vehicles and he burst out of his shell with his first "interlocking brick" tank from a company in Poland (wink wink). Then he needed to know everything about the tank, how fast did it go, what gun did it shoot, etc, and these books helped fill in a lot of gaps that online researching has. I chose this one to review (though we have 9 others) because the Stug is one of his favorites. There is a difference between the Enthusiast type and the Owner's Workshop, so if you want serious details the Owner's Workshop manuals are better than the Enthusiast ones. My only negative comment is this line of books has not put out a Panzer IV book. It seems to have worked its way up and skipped it, and yet there are books on things that did not exist, like the Star Wars manuals. I hope they come back down to earth and make a book on one of the quintessential WWII tanks. The books themselves are great--the binding, the quality of paper, etc, these will last a lifetime unless you let your son use a highlighting pen, big mistake.

Good book about about a unique WW2 vehicle. More interior details would have been nice, but overall, good. Recommended.

This book is a nice compendium and guide to the infamous StuG III Assault Gun/Tank Destroyer used by the German Army during the Second World War. The book explores the StuG's history from its inception as an armored assault gun to its role as a powerful tank destroyer, complete with diagrams to help highlight the differences between models throughout its evolution. There are also images captured from during and after the war of the StuG.The book itself is physically larger than was anticipated but that was my only issue and even that is very negligible.

Like the best of these Enthusiast's Manuals / Handbooks it combines an almost perfect mix of history, technical detail, anecdote, and well presented tabular data. Goes without saying it has an excellent selection of photographs.

Very interesting book and saves me translating German books for the same information.

So pleased that Amazon had this in stock. An excellent book, worth every penny!
