A real cuppa!
Very authentic, and very English! It's my everyday, along with Yorkshire Gold Loose Leaf, I use 3 bags of Typhoo per ~500mL water. I am a tea fanatic, and have many black and green varieties of differing qualities, but this is a very good "anytime just pop into a warmed teapot 5 minutes, add milk and sugar, and Bob's your uncle you got an authentic British cuppa tea". Enjoy 😊

Possibly the epitome of basic British black tea, but too pricey in the US
I thought I had tried all the standard Brit teas that are available in the US, but I somehow missed Typhoo. It’s good and I think is an excellent example of a standard British tea. It isn’t anything special, but it is humble, reliable, and tasty. When brewed, there is a pleasant “teaish” aroma primarily consisting of malt. It brews a dark, strong cup with a flavour that is pretty much the epitome of a good British bag tea. If brewed for less time it is tasty enough to drink straight, but it’s at its best at least with milk. The thing that stands out to me most in the flavour is it’s richness. It’s a simple but comforting black tea. I think it is smoother than PG Tips but a little stronger than Yorkshire. It is also good with both milk and sugar and makes truly excellent cold brew iced tea.My issue is it’s price point here. It is around the same as Punjana and Barry’s and I think both those teas are better and more distinctive. It is also usually a good four or five bucks more expensive than Yorkshire, and while it tastes different, I don’t think it’s better. In fact I also find Yorkshire to be a much more distinctive tea. Typhoo, like the Irish tea Lyons, is a good basic black tea that just doesn’t stand out from its peers. I think it would make a good staple bagged black tea, but I prefer Yorkshire both in taste and price.

I am a convert, and will never drink lessor teas again!
To say I was skeptical of British Tea would be an understatement. I personally thought all the hype and hyperbole was just that. But how WRONG I was.The tea arrived in very timely manner and I eagerly prepared my water and cup. Opening the package I was not overly impressed. They were after all just round tea bags properly filled with tea. I sniffed the first bag and was pleasantly surprised with a very robust and yet delicate bouquet of scents.Once the water was just boiling it came off the stove and set just a moment till just below the boiling point. The cup was pre-warmed and then the bag went in and the water poured in the cup The tea steeped for about 3 minutes and I then put just a dash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar. The first sip was absolutely MIND Blowing! The second was even better and that cup of tea was the first cup of proper tea I have ever had in my life.I am a convert! I will never again drink any silly American tea. This stuff is perfection in my opinion. My two children who also enjoy hot tea were equally impressed and they too have become converts as well. I am so angry that I have not tried this before now, so many years of hot tea drinking wasted on insipid American floor sweeping teas.Do yourself a favor and get some Typhoo Tea today, you will not regret it one bit!
