Set a new PR everyday!
These plates make your muscles AND you ego grow! I am a weight training fanatic and a Personal Trainer. I started a 5 x 5 program last winter and found that I could not consistently increase the load by 5lb increments. Just by happenstance, I stumbled into these babies and life as a lifter has been never better! With these smaller weights I can add 1/2lb to 5lbs and an infinite range in-between thus insuring a sound progressive loading protocol. As a PT I specialize in strength training older women. With these plates I can enable them to set new "World Records" (what I love to tell them) each time we train because they always progress, even if just a little : ) Their confidence and enthusiasm goes through the roof, which is good for them and good for my business too! These plates are solid, slide on the bar smoothly and are easily stashed in a gym bag.BONUS: Make great coasters too!

Accurate weight and Great Finish
I purchased these weights to make advancements in my shoulder pressing, especially in the Z-Press. They fit the bar well and I like that they do not look flashy. Twice, I weighed each weight on a scale measuring to the nearest whole gram. They weighed as follows:1lb pair - (453g)(453g)3/4lb pair - (340g)(342g)1/2lb pair - (227g)(227g)1/4lb pair - (110g)(113)Seeing as there is only a max difference of 3 grams which is equivalent to 0.007lbs, I would say these weight deviations will do little to hinder your goals.

Great for lifting!
Solid set of fractional plates! I used them doing a linear progression and saw great progress on my numbers for my lifts! Only thing I'd say is use some string to keep them group or something when not in use, otherwise you'll have to look for them in your gear... But if you're looking to get stronger these are a great tool towards making that happen!

Great help for making consistent progression on tough lifts.
I bought these fractional plates to help assist me with my strength training program. I was following the Starting Strength protocol Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training, 3rd edition, and eventually, you will get to a point where progression will slow to the point where you cannot simply add five pound weights every session. The author had recommended fractional plates to help solve this problem and I found myself on Amazon to pick these up as I was having trouble finding anything in sporting goods stores that were useful. After a couple years of use, I can say that these plates do the job well. I've worked out in three different gyms over that time, and if your gym uses standard Olympic barbells like mine does, these are machined properly to fit. I haven't had trouble with these fitting on normal barbells that I've used. With regards to whether or not they actually weigh what they say on the face, I used a kitchen scale that weighs in ounces and each one was within a quarter of an ounce of what they said on the face. They seem to be pretty well crafted to be the weight that they claim to be.The only minor complaints that I can level on these plates is that the paint will begin to chip almost immediately. I don't really consider this a big deal as I'm not really interested in them looking pretty, but I have found some paint chips in my gym bag from time to time. This may bother some people. Also, there is no carrying case with these, so you do have to come up with a solution to keep them organized. Five total pounds of weight will require something reasonably durable too.Aside from that, these do the job of helping you be more precise with your weight lifting progression perfectly well. Near the end of your basic progression, when you are trying to improve your shoulder press lifts and find five pound increments to be too heavy, you'll be glad you can put a couple pounds at a time on the bar. If you are a more advanced lifter and on a percentage of lifting max based program, these weights will also give you more precision if you want it as well. I've used these to get more precise with a 5/3/1 progression as I've moved on from Starting Strength and they have continued to serve well. I've gotten quite a bit of mileage out of these to justify the price. If you are serious about strength progression and want to get a little more out of your program, you can't go wrong here.Recommended.

Nice addition to my home gym
Nice addition to my home gym. I bought them three years ago and am very happy with my purchase. They have seen consistent use in my outdoor (non-climate controlled) garage gym and have fared well. The paint has chipped on the plates but who wants pretty gym equipment? There is no rust, they slide on/off easy and weigh the same as they did when purchased — What else could I ask for in a set of weights?I initially bought them for StrongLifts but they continue to see use in all of my progression programs. Great purchase!

Weight is perfect, finish is horrible.
As far as the weights, they are completely spot on. All of them were within a few thousandths of the exact weight. However, the finish is definitely lacking. The 1lb weights have a smooth, almost powder coated finish. The rest are very rough, and I'm pretty sure the paint will be coming off on the bar. Considering the cost I would expect the finish to be better, and honestly, I shouldn't have been cheap and just spent the extra $20 to get the Rogue fractionals. However, in the end they're just weights, and it doesn't matter what they look like.

Really neat. Love em.These guys help you a make progress when you are on a strict program that focuses on small consistent gains. It looks pricey, but if you plan on working out years on out, I'd buy this over a few containers of creatine or pre workout for sure.I definitely recommend them. Had em for over a month and don't regret it one bit.
