Best register by far!
I looked at a lot of cash registers and read a lot of reviews...not just on amazon. This one had the highest rating on amazon but not on other toy sights. So I was taking a gamble. I was looking for something more on the realistic side, and I didn't want the food because we already had that. I wanted a scanner, cash drawer, and also wanted a real calculator. (This one has all and more) Many many registers came with that and more. Some I looked at had a belt, to be honest..the belt is so small it's pointless. Because of that I vetoed the belt option. Some had micro phones...last thing I needed was another way to make it more loud in my house...anyways, after looking I settled on this one. After getting it, it's so much more then a register! It teachers the names of the coins...does money math and has options to do practice activities. I bought it for my soon to be three year old...she could care less about that, but I think it's great that this toy can grow with her and even give her a challenge. It comes with money, plastic coupon card and plastic debit card. She plays with it for hours. She's even learned the names of the coins just from playing with it!

Great concept but some issues with functionality
A very nice toy and my kiddies love it. They are 3 and grasping the concept of paying and money. So this is a great learning toy for the kids. I agree with other posters that the drawer flying open is very annoying and also, the constant "let's play" if the machine is left alone grates on my nerves. But otherwise, I love the concept. I especially love the credit card and coupon card but they should let us buy replacement versions!!! I have twins so that would be holpful. Note that the credit cards from the wallet do not work. The ones as part of the set are notched so that you can ONLY use that specific one. So my twins fight over the cards. Ugh. I have written to LR to see if there are any replacement sets I can buy just to keep the peace (and my sanity) in tact!!

Great quality, very fun!
My 3 year old received this for Christmas. It has taken many falls off the table during the past year and still works perfectly! Very good quality. It came with play cash and coins. I took the coins away because I also have a 1 year old who loves to eat small toys. I also ended up taking the cash away after a couple days because my youngest was tearing and crumpling it. I will give it back when he is a little older and hopefully less destructive. It also came with a cute credit card and coupon card. They love playing with these. This register makes all sorts of cool noises, tells you prices when you scan items, adds things up, etc. It will even play math games with your child, mine aren't old enough for that yet. The volume isn't too high, but it can be annoyingly repetitive if the drawer or coin bank get left open. Just shut them to stop the noise. It does automatically shut off after no use which is nice too.

Cha-ching!
Easily the best toy cash register I have ever seen. I replaced the pretend coins with real ones so my daughter would be able to recognize real money more easily, and it counts the same and fits in the slot just fine. The only two issues with this are the little weighing platform falls off. The biggest issue is the money drawer flies out so fast when you open it that the fake coins explode all over, making a mess. If you can get your child to put their hand in front of the drawer to slow down the force when opening it, it should be no problem. Other than that, it is fantastic. The manual is very user friendly and I keep it with the register at all times in case we need to refer to it. The credit card is cute, but it should say "declined" once in awhile for a more "real life" feel. :)

Surprisingly advanced & my toddler LOVES it
My 3yo son has been on a "grocery store" imaginary place kick lately, and we had everything to act it out: food, shopping cart, and even his play kitchen. We figured he should probably have an actual cash register instead of the kitchen tool he was using as a "price scanner."This. Register. Is. AWESOME. It has both an imaginary play mode to do all the basic functions you would expect. There are also learning games, too: Counting, identifying coins, and some others. Both the included credit card and discount coupon cards are pretty cool, too. All of the sounds are very realistic - all that's missing is a "Please place your items in the bagging area" line.We often joke that this register must be from Whole Foods, since it randomizes prices - and they always seem to be ridiculously high! Definitely worth the price: high quality with lots of playtime and learning options.

This has been such a fun toy. We haven't had any problems with it ...
This has been such a fun toy. We haven't had any problems with it so far, other than the cash drawer comes out with such force that the fake money goes flying all over when you open it, but you get in the habit quickly of just putting your hand in front of it as it opens to slowly let it open and then it's not really a problem anymore. It's fun for kids aged 2 all the way up to 7 or 8 because they do different things with it. It can just be an imagination-instigating toy for young children, and for kids even as young as age 4 there are fun addition games. I watched a 4 year-old actually sit and learn a number of addition problems just because it was "fun" on this toy. The scanning noise makes it feel "legitimate" too, kids love that.

Greatest Pretend Cash Register!
We saw this cash register at a friends and our son loved it, so I bought one for him for Christmas. He was 2...he's now 2 1/2 and he loves his cash register. We haven't even put the batteries in yet, but he just loves the coins and dollars (future banker?). I put old voided credit cards for him to play with...and he will even put real money when he receives it in there. It's so cute. He loves his cash register. His mind will be blown once I actually put the batteries in. :) GREAT pretend and play, and I love that he knows his coins...I ration his dollar and coins b/c he's still young but he has not ripped any...though we are missing 2 of the 4 nickels I gave him. Hopefully he didn't eat them! LOVE THIS!

When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade
This is the second of these cash registers I have ordered to give as a gift and both times it was a hit with the recipient. Our grandkids love it. It is educational and durable. I like that it comes with Canadian Currency. Our Granddaughter has CF and her mom sets up a fundraiser lemonade stand and our 8 year old Granddaughter used her cash register for running the lemonade stand. It's a toy that can be used by a three-year-old and appreciated by an 8 year old. Ordering a second one speaks for it self. I highly recommend this product.

Fun and educational
Fun and educational! This register has a lot of options but the toonies and loonies do not fit into the coin counting slot (my 3 year old got a loonie wedged in the slot and we had to pry it out to keep the register from repeatedly telling us "let's play again!"). Otherwise, money is very current and accurate looking. My children really enjoy playing store!
